Sobre mim. About me. À propos de moi.
Oi, me chamo Aquiles Melo. Sou musico brasileiro desde 1996. Comecei minha carreira em Fortaleza, Ceará. Meu instrumento principal era o kit de bateria naquele tempo. Em 2012 mudei para Montreal Canadá onde estudei na Université du Québec à Montréal. Là, eu aprendi também outros instrumentos de percussão. Meu professor neste período de estudos foi Luc Boivin, um músico conhecido na cena local e um educador experiente. Meu objetivo como musico é de tocar em projetos onde minha criatividade e minha identidade musical possam contribuir e somar. Já participei projetos em que promovi a minha cultura de origem, mas também contribuo em outros projetos musicais. Tenho outras formações, como em engenharia de som por um College especializado (Musitechnic). Porém tenho trabalhado bastante como musico acompanhante, nos projetos mais variados! Hi, my name is Aquiles Melo. I am Brazilian musician since 1996. I started my career in Fortaleza, Ceará. My main instrument is the drum kit, at that time. In 2012 I moved to Montreal Canada where I studied latin percussions at the Université du Québec à Montréal. There, I enlarged my spectrum of percussion, improving my playing, now as a drummer percussionist. My teacher in this period of study was Luc Boivin, a well-known musician on the local scene and an experienced educator. My goal as a musician is to play in projects where my creativity and my musical identity can contribute the best for the projects I'm engaged. I have participated in projects where I promoted my root culture, but I also contribute to other local musical projects. I have other backgrounds, such as sound engineering by a specialized college (Musitechnic). But I have worked a lot as a side-man, in the most varied projects!
