For us, showing up at Startupfest has always been about more than the pitches.

We want to create space for Black founders to meet, connect, and build.

Some of the best parts aren’t on the schedule. A conversation can turn into an opportunity, a friendship, or just a core memory.

And somewhere between all of that, community happens.

Pour nous, être présents à Startupfest, ça a toujours été bien plus que les pitchs.

On veut créer un espace où les entrepreneur·e·s noir·e·s peuvent se rencontrer, créer des liens et bâtir.

Certains des meilleurs moments ne sont pas au programme. Une conversation peut mener à une opportunité, à une amitié ou simplement devenir un souvenir marquant.

Et quelque part au milieu de tout ça, une communauté se crée.

It takes a lot of courage to get up and pitch your idea in front of people. But man, these founders really brought their best.

You could tell how much time they spent thinking about the problems they wanted to solve, and once they started talking about what they were building, their excitement came through.

That’s why we created the Rep Matters Black Entrepreneur Investment Prize. We want more Black founders putting their ideas forward and getting on these stages, because the more they see themselves taking up space in these rooms, the more they know they belong there too.

Il faut beaucoup de courage pour se lever et présenter son idée devant un public. Et franchement, ces entrepreneur·e·s ont vraiment donné le meilleur d’eux-mêmes.

C’est exactement pour ça que nous avons créé le Rep Matters Prix Entrepreneur.e de la Communauté Noire. Nous voulons voir plus d’entrepreneur·e·s noir·e·s présenter leurs idées et monter sur ces scènes. Parce que plus on se voit prendre sa place dans ces espaces, plus on sait qu’on y a sa place.

Breakfast Club is back, and this time, we built.

Last week, the Rep Matters community came together for Velocity by Design, a Building Session led by Sébastien Martineau with support from Tunde Ogunremi.

Together, we explored how to think intentionally about automation before jumping into tools, starting with the real problem, the process, and the value we wanted to create.

Huge thank you to Sébastien, Tunde, and everyone who showed up with curiosity and energy to build.

This is what Rep Matters is about: bringing the right people into the room and helping ideas move.

Le Club Déjeuner était de retour, et cette fois-ci, on a construit.

La semaine dernière, la communauté Rep Matters s’est réunie pour Velocity by Design, une Session de création animée par Sébastien Martineau avec le soutien de Tunde Ogunremi.

Ensemble, nous avons exploré comment penser l’automatisation avec intention avant de passer aux outils, en commençant par le vrai problème, le processus et la valeur à créer.
