Presenting my new bomber... yes! I'm making a lot of them these days, but hey, you go with what your findings inspire you, right?! And these days, it's a little chilly in my area of the world, so it must be influencing my 'creative process'!

This time, I used some strips of 'smart-looking' fabrics—wool, tweed, pinstriped blues, greys, silvers... Different from my usual palettes, but I honestly really like the way it turned out ! It confirms again and again that you can make wonders with bits and pieces of fabrics. They were just waiting to be pieced together into this new fabric that is now strutting its stuff with coolness and originality! 😎

Happy upcycling to all of you!

I decided to take one of my little babies to the museum this weekend - with the back drop of those paintings it looked like the perfect setting.

It was quite inspiring and fun to make this tote using a thrifted bundle of turquoise vinyl strips that were waiting for a better life.

Loving the look!

A classic bolero inspired by a lovely preloved quilt I found in mint condition.

It never ceases to amaze me how little things can become so exquisite. They’re just waiting for that special someone that sees their potential.

Added a a creamy textured lining that I adore, bringing out the red of the vest.

Here's a picture of my proud mama in her new outfit. The jacquard print in beautiful ochre fabric is perfect for these harem pants. I had just enough leftover for a matching bolero.
Such precious moments captured in this picture. 🌈💕

I've always loved that moment when I finally get to the step of putting all of my pieces together and seeing what it was meant to become.
It's always a surprise and magical every time for me.
I still need to put in the zipper and lining but this jacket is looking pretty fancy!

This weekend’s colour palette inspired by these pillow shams i thrifted. They’re made with a Moroccan inspired chenille with intricate designs and rich colours.
After taking them all apart I figured i’d have just enough to make a bomber jacket.
I decided to take the rest of the beautiful apricot silk i had used for my mother in law’s kimono.
All the pieces are now cut and ready to be assembled.
Fun fun fun!!

Oopsie daisy 🌼 I got a bit carried away with these fabulous 'blast from the past' threads I sourced at my local thrift shop! The main fabric was from a curtain and the yellow from a tablecloth, both waiting for a new life. My objective was to take these vintage patterns and colors and transform them into a more contemporary and stylish product. I used the same flattering A-line pattern that I adore, with uneven edges that create a flowing design complementing the petals' feel, making it so feminine as it moves with you. The light cotton linen fabric adds to the movement. The A-line cut enhances its femininity, which I love. I added an oversized hood using a tablecloth with a geometric pattern, which was my contemporary touch and pop of color—yellow, beautifully complementing the main orange and brown fabric.

Gotta love the 70’s!

Sharing my latest upcycled project—a beautiful kimono I crafted for my mother-in-law. The main fabric is a luxurious rust-colored silk salvaged from a sari, which initially seemed drab. However, I paired it with a collar made from a curtain that, when flipped, revealed a stunning copper hue that perfectly highlights the aubergine flowers - my stomach hurt when I was cutting it, but it was a definite must! It was simply the perfect combo.
For the lining, I used a thrifted curtain with exquisite shades of green emerging from the main aubergine threads. I was initially unsure how to bring vibrancy to the rust fabric, but the aubergine accents truly give it the chic elegance that this wonderful woman exudes!
I can't wait to gift this to her 💗

🌟 Second Prototype Complete! 🌟

I took it up a notch this time by using a beautiful silk scarf that I thrifted a few years ago for just $4.75. I was super nervous about cutting it up because it was so pretty—especially with those cute birds in the sky!
But to my delight, I think this prototype turned out quite successfully!
Here’s the instructional video I watched a million times! The tune is definitely stuck in my head now! 😆
https://youtu.be/aH9kc8_7xSE?si=0O9KO4gN471vcJuK
Since I made it longer than the one in the video, I replicated the classic kimono collar that goes halfway down, which I find adds a lot of class to the piece. I also decided to widen the sleeves.
My adjusted fabric measurements: Body: 50" (width) x 37" (length) Sleeves: Two pieces measuring 16" x 26", folded in half and sewn together.
Lessons learned: Stick to lightweight fabric for this pattern, the rolled hem foot is a game changer for clean inside seams (added a picture).
And most importantly, don’t be afraid to make mistakes! It’s all part of the learning process, and overcoming challenges makes success even more rewarding, right?! 💗🌈

I have so many bundles of fabric strips that I've been accumulating not knowing what will become of them until I saw this super simple kimono design that's viral on the net.
Everything connected in my mind and the fabric creation began.
I used fabrics from preloved cushion covers, thick curtain cuts, tablecloths that were too long, shirts that were too small lol ... any little bits that I could use to make those long stripes and add some punch and flow.
It's was pretty much like making a quilt, making a few cuts and sewing them together and voilà!
There will most probably be many more of the same design - I have many more bundles to go through 😅

Available on my shop as of today 🙂

My mother-in-law recently gave me some beautiful lace remnants from her grandmother’s and mother’s cherished fabrics. These pieces carried so much history and meaning, and I wanted to create something truly special that she could keep—something that would honor the generations of women woven into these delicate fabrics.

With that in mind, I transformed them into a unique iPad case—a blend of old and new, tradition and utility.
