“What Mothers Do “

Here’s another one that’s recently come out of the studio.

I don’t often paint two main subjects, but I really wanted to explore the relationship between a mother and her cub. It’s just something I connect with. That instinct to protect, to guide, and to always be looking out for your kids… I think it’s something a lot of us can relate to.

And yes… I definitely didn’t hold back on the colour. Those pops of chartreuse make me so happy. It’s one of my favourite colours, and I love what it does against all those earthy browns.

This one measures 36 × 60 inches, and I’m really happy with how it came together.

As I mentioned, I’m going to spend the next little while catching you up on what’s been happening in the studio over the past few weeks!

As I shared yesterday, this whale was one of the latest pieces to come out of the studio. It was my very first attempt at painting a whale, and I honestly had so much fun with it. Safe to say, it won’t be my last.

I’m also really happy to share that it was quickly collected. Congratulations to its new owner. I hope you love it as much as I loved creating it.

And as always, if you ever have questions about a piece, where to find my work, or you’re interested in adding one to your own collection, don’t hesitate to send me a message here on Instagram. I genuinely love connecting with you all

This past April, I had the chance to spend a few days in La Malbaie, and once again I was reminded why I love that part of Quebec so much.

I’ve always been drawn to the water. I can’t really explain it, but being near it brings me a sense of calm that few other places do. Sitting in a little Airbnb perched on the hillside overlooking the St. Lawrence, I found myself imagining the whales just beneath the surface. That quiet moment stayed with me.

This painting was inspired by that feeling. It’s the first whale I’ve ever painted, and I absolutely loved taking on a subject that’s completely new to me. Exploring the movement of the water, the light, and the quiet strength of these incredible animals was both challenging and incredibly rewarding.

I already have so many ideas for where I want to take this subject next. Safe to say the whales have officially claimed a spot in my studio.

The light !!!!!

Right here! This is where the inspiration was born

I had just said I was surprised this one was still here,it’s always been a favourite of mine.
And just like that… it found its home.

Bison don’t run from the storm they walk straight into it.
That kind of stubborn, grounded strength?
Yeah... I’m drawn to that every time.
This one might be one I regret letting go.
If it’s speaking to you, the gallery has all the details.

Where Antlers Dream
42 x 42 moose

I don’t know what it is about them…
awkward, massive, kind of strange.

But I keep coming back.
And honestly, that’s gold as an artist
to find something you can explore over and over
and never get tired of.
