It is with great sadness that I write this post. After almost 10 years of serving the greater Moncton area and maritimes Mystery Moncton will be closing its doors June 1st.
It has been the greatest pleasure and privilege to provide a fun, safe, and exciting atmosphere for everyone, regardless of age, s*x, race or experience level. From the first time player, to those of you I saw more than my own family at times it seemed. As a business owner, to be on a first name basis with so many of you was truly an honor.
For those of you that were newer, if we crossed paths at the mall or in town, I heard your kids whisper to you "that's the escape room guy". I'd just smile with pride and tell my wife "they were in on the weekend, or sometime last week"
I will surely miss post game chats. What you liked, what you didn't, what great games you played elsewhere. Having been so closely involved for so many years, made it feel more like a Hangout for me than a workplace.
I'd be remiss to not mention all the employees, past and present. Without you, this business would not have succeeded the way it did. For that I thank you. To Jonathan Hachey, we lost you far too early my dear friend. Even after 5 years there are so many things that remind me of you. You helped me grow as a business owner, and as a person more than you get to know. I miss you.
My hope is to some day reopen in Moncton area but for now you can still visit our locations in Fredericton and Cavendish.
