Every year, we acquire a variety of gorgeous black petunias from Open Sky Co-operative for our outdoor space, and they make me nostalgic for this lovely piece created for my dear friend Kloé Kim a few years back🖤 They are mystical and elegant, with their velvety trumpet shapes, visually stunning and deeply inspiring!

This lovely piece was commissioned by Taylor as a gift for a friend, in loving memory of Riley 🤍 🐕

For this piece, I chose a dreamlike rendering, airy with diffused light that scatters across his features with tender warmth. I love that his blue eye seems to hold stars in the way it twinkles while the other brown eye though luminous, is grounded. It feels like a tranquil convergence of the earthly and celestial all bound within Riley’s emotive gaze.

Thank you, Taylor for trusting my ability to memorialize sweet Riley for your friend 🤍⭐ May this artpiece bring them warmth and solace.
