It was wonderful to have a visit from Moy Mackay Artist a couple of weeks ago, who travelled up from her Borders studio to deliver six new artworks to the gallery. Moy is world renowned for creating incredible felted paintings from merino fleece fibres and stitch work. The resulting, highly painterly works are vibrant and full of depth.

Ontario Lincoln Fleece. I am enjoying the nice weather, and sorting out, this big, beautiful, Lincoln fleece for washing. It’s a lot of work, but it brings me so much joy to be handling these Beautiful long locks.

The “Ember Ore” locks look very different now, compared to my initial photographs, a few day ago. I noticed it was picking up the blue quite strongly. I made this short clip to show, what the locks actually look like. The photograph on the website, and this video is the correct colouring of these locks.

Now that Summer is here, it’s time to wash and dye my fleeces.
Here is my first summer batch of Hand dyed locks. These are Ontario Lincoln locks, drying in the warm summer sunshine. It’s the perfect length, for Art Doll hair, as well as needle felting, wet felting, weaving and mixed media.
