The Art Gallery of Mississauga (AGM) is a public, not-for-profit, art gallery located in the Mississauga Civic Centre, right on Celebration Square and across from Square One Shopping Centre. The AGM is proud to admit people free of charge, serve communities, and provide positive visual art experiences for all visitors. The AGM provides platforms for exhibitions, collections and experimentation in

contemporary culture with a recent focus on artists and cultural producers from Indigenous, newcomer and youth communities. Through a broad range of educational programs, artist projects and other forms of critical dialogue, the AGM seeks to transcend traditional disciplinary boundaries, foster community, and provide spaces where alternative modes of thought are supported and activated in tangible ways. The Art Gallery of Mississauga (AGM) would like to acknowledge and give thanks to the land on which we work. The AGM has the privilege of operating in the territory of the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation and traditional homeland of the Wendat, Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee nations. We are thankful to the many First Nations, Inuit, Métis and global Indigenous peoples who call this region home. We’re excited to be part of Culture Days 2026, happening September 18 to October 4!

Visit the Art Gallery of Mississauga during Culture Days and experience Electric Neon Clock, an exhibition by A.S.M. Kobayashi that brings together family archives, historical records, performance and storytelling to explore the experiences of Japanese Canadians, including histories of displacement, incarceration and dispossession during the Second World War.

We’re also inviting visitors of all ages to take part in a hands-on activity inspired by the exhibition. Pick up a FREE Make Your Own Origami Boat Kit, inspired by the history of Japanese Canadian fishing communities and the themes explored in Electric Neon Clock.

Create and decorate your boat while visiting the gallery, or take your kit home to enjoy later. Each kit includes durable, water-resistant paper that can be decorated, folded and even floated.

Now on view at the Art Gallery of Mississauga: A.S.M. Kobayashi’s Electric Neon Clock.

Through family archives, historical records, film and storytelling, Electric Neon Clock explores the history and lived experiences of Japanese Canadians, including the forced displacement, incarceration and dispossession of Japanese Canadian communities during the Second World War.

At once personal and collective, the exhibition considers how histories are carried forward through families and across generations, inviting us to reflect on memory, identity, belonging and the stories that shape our understanding of the past.

We invite you to visit the AGM and spend time with Electric Neon Clock, on view until October 25, 2026.

Admission to the Art Gallery of Mississauga is always free.

Art of Yoga returns to the Art Gallery of Mississauga this September and October!

Experience our new exhibition - Electric Neon Clock through movement, and creative reflection with two unique yoga sessions set within the gallery.

Join us for an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and experience art from a different perspective as you move through the gallery space.

Slow Flow with Aman
📅 Sunday, September 9 & October 4
⏰ 5PM - 6PM

Facilitated by Mississauga-based instructor Aman Wraich, this gentle Hatha-based session blends mindful movement, breath, and calming sensory elements. Drawing on her training in Bikram Yoga, Aman will guide participants through foundational postures with an emphasis on breath, alignment, and mindful transitions.

Restorative Yoga with Pamela Lis
📅 Wednesday, September 9 and October 14
⏰ 6PM - 7PM

Facilitated by yoga instructor Pamela Lis, this calming restorative practice focuses on deep relaxation, mindful breathing, and supported postures designed to release tension and help you reset.

Experience art in a new way. Inspired by our current exhibition Electric Neon Clock, each session invites you to move, and connect with the artwork and gallery environment.

Whether you’re new to yoga or have practice, all are welcome!

A few highlights from our Origami Paper Boat workshop at the Japan Festival Canada in Mississauga Celebration Square. Led by A.S.M Kobayashi and inspired by Electric Neon Clock, families and friends of all ages gathered to fold and decorate their very own origami boats and float them around the fountain!
