** Working Dancer Wednesday**

Introducing our first Iona Alumni Guest Choreographer for our upcoming show "REUNION". Yes our graduates do become Working Dancers and Choreographers! Check out this beauty Natalie Montalvo

Natalie Montalvo was raised in a lively and creative household where her passion to salsa dance sprouted naturally at a young age. Natalie pursued her interest in dance at age 11 but began to take her training seriously when she attended a Iona C.S.S high school dance program. She then began to train competitively at the Canadian Dance Company, in Oakville Ontario, for three years. At age 14 she rigorously began training and choreographing in ballet, modern, hip-hop, latin and jazz . Natalie graduated the Iona CSS dance program in 2012 and upon graduating she pursued her interest in dance education by attending and completing at B.F.A at Concordia University with a major in contemporary dance and complementary studies in exercise science. While studying in the creative epicentre of Montreal she was also able to teach a variety of dance techniques and choreography to children/teens at a local dance studio where she was challenged to teach dance to francophone students. While in Montreal Natalie was also delighted to see how dance can positively impact people with special needs and disabilities as she was fortunate to teach occasional dance lessons.

After graduating Concordia at the top of her class Natalie moved back to Mississauga and currently attends York University in pursuits of obtaining a second university degree in education with a dance specialization. Natalie also continues to perform and choreograph in the GTA and is delighted to be working alongside Ontario curriculum standards in classes around the GTA. Natalie has also been working for the YMCA for over four years and has gained plenty of valuable experiences as a leader and role model. She began her journey as a camp counsellor but has become a supervisor at a summer camp for kids ages 4-14 and also has experience working in before and aftercare programs across Oakville, Ontario. Natalie continues to focus her energy on developing her skills as a future educator and creative artist.
