Today, JOEL completed a rigging inspection of the counterweight rigging system at the John Elliott Theatre in Halton Hills, ON.

Inspections are important for the health and safety of all theatre users. During the course of a rigging inspection problems are documented and a recommendations are developed to maintain the integrity of the equipment for the theatre.

JOEL completed an upgrade for the Joseph R. Smallwood Arts and Culture Centre

Replacing an old manual counterweight system with a custom built JOEL Fire Curtain Hoist and new release stations.

This project has helped prepare the Arts and Cultural Centre for their upcoming production of Come From Away, the true story of when all air traffic was grounded due to 9/11.

Joel recently answered a call for help from the Lighthouse Theatre in Port Colborne. Their retractable riser system had failed, potentially preventing them from opening their season on Wednesday.

Despite having limited experience with retractable risers of a different manufacturer , we provided assistance.

The problem was found and repairs completed on Tuesday morning, leaving the system ready for an expectant audience after 2 years of missing out on live
