Remember Yusuf Dikeç, the Turkish shooter who went viral at the Paris Olympics for competing with one hand in his pocket and plain glasses while everyone else looked like high-tech cyborgs? He’s back — and this time, he’s brought home gold at the 2025 European Champions League in Istanbul. 🇹🇷
At 52, Dikeç showed up exactly as before — white t-shirt, regular specs, no fancy gear, just pure calm and confidence. Together with teammate Mustafa Inan, he defeated Germany in the final, helping Turkey sweep all three team events in front of an ecstatic home crowd.
A retired Turkish Gendarmerie officer, Dikeç became Turkey’s oldest Olympic medalist at 51 and a meme icon for his effortless swagger. His motto?
👉 “Success doesn’t come with your hands in your pockets.”
Ironically, he keeps proving it can.
