Serenata Singers Serenata Singers is a women's community choir practicing in Mission, BC. Conductor, Deborah Handley. Serenata is a community. But we all love to sing. Interested?

Serenata is a community women's choir based in Mission, and drawing its members from around the Central Valley. Conducted by Deborah Handley, we sing music from across centuries, cultures and genres with spirit, passion and joy. We are sisters,daughters, mothers, aunts, nieces, grandmothers and great grandmothers. We are accountants, students, teachers, judges, retirees and more. Some of us have a

wealth of experience singing and some of us are coming with brand new eyes. More than that, we love the challenge of learning new music and creating something magical together. If you are interested in singing with us here's what you need to know:
• You don't need to audition, or sing on your own.
• You don't need to read music.
• And you don't need any previous experience of choirs or singing to join us. you might feel out of your depth at times but don't worry. The singers around you will help, and you will acquire the skills just by 'hanging in there'. Each September and January we hold open rehearsals and encourage women to drop in and see if we fit together. In addition to creating harmony and singing wonderful music, we can promise an warm welcome, great stories, good food and a lot of laughter. Intrigued? Curious? Why not take the plunge? Serenata is delighted to invite you to The Geography of Hope – a concert designed to lift your spirits in these difficult times, and send you out into the world singing. We hope you can join us!

Here are some things to note:
Guest Artists: we are joined by Jennie Bice (violin), Boris Sichon (percussion), and Carolyn Armitstead (spoken word)

New Location: - we are singing in lovely warm acoustic of Trinity Memorial United Church, 33737 George Ferguson Way, Abbotsford

New Pricing: Tickets purchased in advance from choir members or via email (check the poster) are $15. Tickets at the door will be $20. But, as always, children 12 and under are free.

A Fabulous Reception: we invite you to our post concert reception with all manner of goodies.

A Chance to Win: At every concert we hold a raffle which supports Serenata's music fund. As we did last Christmas, Serenata is choosing to share half of this concert's raffle proceeds with Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières who work tirelessly to provide medical care and assistance to people caught in crisis around the world.

After a brilliant 25th birthday party Serenata is now looking towards its December concerts. We are delighted to be part of the Rotary Carol Festival (we sing on the Thursday, Dec. 4 edition) again. And on Dec. 7th we host Darkness & Light, our annul Christmas concert. See the poster for details. We hope you will join us.

In case you've ever been curious about singing in a women's choir there are 2 more rehearsals left in Serenata's September test drive! Tuesdays, 7-9pm, at All Saints Anglican Church, 33077 2nd Avenue. Singing, laughing, eating, making friends, making music.
