The guests have gone home. The music has faded. The tables and chairs are put away.

And here she sits… quiet, proud, and ready for the next chapter.

Sometimes after an event, we catch ourselves standing back and just looking around. It’s hard to believe how many stories these walls have already witnessed.

We are so thankful for every family, every celebration, every laugh, every tear, and every memory shared here at The Maverick Saloon.

She may be empty today, but she never feels lonely. ❤️

Where the West Comes to Celebrate.

Yesterday, The Maverick Saloon was filled to the rafters for a very special Celebration of Life for Adam Pich.

Looking around the room, it was impossible not to see just how deeply Adam was loved. Family, lifelong friends, neighbours, and countless people whose lives he touched came together to share stories, laughter, memories, and a few tears.

Adam was truly one of a kind—a character in all the best ways. He could make people laugh, tell a great story, and leave a lasting impression wherever he went. But above everything else, he loved his family.

Our hearts go out to his wife, Donna, and his daughters, Crystal(JJ) and Janna(Andre) and grandchildren who were clearly surrounded by an incredible community of love and support yesterday.

For Roy, this gathering held an especially special meaning. Adam was a dear friend and one of the biggest supporters of The Maverick Saloon from the very beginning. Ever since Roy started this project, Adam loved stopping by to see what was new, what was being built, and what crazy idea was coming next. The saloon was one of his happy places, and it felt fitting that so many gathered here to celebrate a life so well lived.

Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday and helped fill the room with the same warmth, laughter, and friendship that Adam brought to so many.

A life measured not by years, but by the people who loved him—and judging by yesterday, Adam lived a very rich life indeed. ❤️

Today at Maverick Saloon, we have the honour of hosting a Celebration of Life for Ray Gagnon.

Ray was a true sportsman through and through. Whether it was hockey or baseball, he didn’t just play the game — he mastered it. He shared that passion by coaching others, passing along his knowledge, encouragement, and love of the sport to so many.

From the stories Roy has shared Ray was more than the athlete and the coach, Ray will be remembered for his humour. He had a way of making people laugh, lightening the room, and bringing folks together — a gift that will be deeply missed and fondly remembered today.

We are grateful to be the place where friends and family gather to share stories, memories, and a few smiles in his honour.

For anyone who knew Ray and is unable to attend, please feel welcome to share your condolences here, as the family follows our page.

Cecil got himself a glow-up… and we are HERE for it. 😍

That beautiful new deck is officially ready for morning coffees, afternoon visits, and evening wind-downs under the trees. There’s just something special about sitting out here, listening to the birds, feeling the breeze, and watching the world slow down a little.

Whether you’re stopping by for a visit, a stay, or just to admire the view — Cecil’s new front porch is the perfect place to do it.

We have a feeling this deck is going to see a lot of stories, laughs, and good company this season.

Sun is shining and we’re looking at a beautiful 22° and sunny kind of day at The Maverick Saloon.

Today’s vibes are all about the outdoors — we’ll be soaking it up with breaks happening on the South Back 40 patio where the fresh air and sunshine just hit different.

Now the real question is…

Do we set up the patio bar today? 🍻😎

Because this feels like a “cold drink outside” kind of day.

She came. She saw. She booked. ✨

Today we welcomed our very first bride through the doors of The Maverick Saloon — and we are beyond excited to share that she has officially confirmed her wedding here for 2027.

This space was built for love stories, laughter, and unforgettable celebrations, and seeing it through a bride’s eyes for the first time was something really special.

The Maverick is officially becoming a place where forever begins, and we couldn’t be more grateful to be part of this journey right from the start.

Here’s to first brides, first bookings, and many beautiful weddings ahead. 🥂

Out for a little evening walk-about to plan today’s jobs…

and of course the full security patrol team came along.

Meow Meow leading the recon, Sheba close behind, and partner in crime, Gus, the black cat, bringing up the rear.

They checked the wood pile, wandered the trails, sniffed absolutely everything, and made sure we were properly prepared for a big work day.

This morning? Beautiful double-digit weather and we’re ready to roll.

Nothing happens at The Maverick without patrol approval.

My grandson Dawson came to hang out at The Maverick the other day, the shuffleboard table turned into a full-blown “curling rink” according to this 8 year old.

He picked the metal weights and said, “These are curling rocks, Nanny. We’re playing curling.”😂

And let me tell you… he knew exactly what he was doing.
He got shot rock and officially beat his Nanny.

Safe to say the competition is already fierce around here.

Just another memory made at The Maverick Saloon — where even shuffleboard becomes a family showdown.

You know what they say…

April snow squalls, whiteout conditions, and 80 km/hr wind gusts bring May flowers. 🌨️🌬️🌷

No work at The Maverick today — Mother Nature had other plans and she wasn’t asking for opinions.

Guess we’ll trade hammers for hot coffee and wait this one out. Stay safe and warm out there, friends!
