Just like Hannah the Art by Hannah team love summer and all the yummy berries that come with it!

Particularity the berries that are known to Nova Scotia, and if you've tried NS berries you know there is a difference!

Hannah created two beautiful paintings depicting her favorites; in "Blueberry Muffins" and "Strawberries"

You can find both of these canvases in the Medway Room at Riverbank General Store for the Art by Hannah Summer Show and Sale. The show is available to view and purchase any time during store hours. Weekdays 8 am -6 pm and Weekends 11am -6 pm.

Now the question is do you prefer Blueberries or Strawberries?

Art by Hannah Armstrong Show & Sale.

The Summer Show is happening in the Medway Room at Riverbank General Store all summer.

Hannah is most inspired by nature and the beauty that surrounds her in the summertime. She is drawn especially to flowers, perhaps her middle name being Rose has instinctively lead her towards floras.

She has designed and dedicated a portion of her summer show to flowers, she has five painting from that series currently hanging in the Medway room.

Like many people in Nova Scotia right now, Hannah is hoping for a rainy day. Hopefully the forecast is right and there is at least a shower this evening to help dampen the forests.

The hope for rain inspired today's post about Hannah's painting

"Rainy Day"

This playful painting is full of joy depicting a scene of a home, flowers and trees with pops of rainy drops capturing the carefree beauty of a rainy day.

Hannah shared that on rainy days she like to be cozy, drinking a hot beverage, and to relax by listening to the rain while painting or reading.

Art by Hannah Show & Sale is happening at Riverbank General Store’s Medway Room all summer.

One of Hannah's newest pieces was inspired by her recent visit to Peggy's Cove. This trip was her first time visiting the Lighthouse and she was so moved by the landscape that she took out her sketch pad and began creating her version of "The Lighthouse".

We are thrilled to announce that Art by Hannah Armstrong is back on the walls of The Medway Room at Riverbank General Store!

Our river view room is bright and fun again with colourful artwork by Hannah Armstrong. Hannah has written about her inspiration for each of the 12 paintings being shown.

Hannah’s inspiration comes from the world around her including nature, gardens and food.

Hannah has been busy painting and the walls of Riverbank General Store now have many new pieces of her artwork.

One of her most recent is “Picnic at the Beach”. Hannah describes her inspiration for this piece:

“One of my favourite things to do in the summer is to go to the beach. I like walking on the beach and looking at the water. I thought the beach would make a good painting for summer.”

We are all dreaming of summer beach weather, right?

The post that led to yesterday’s memory ♥️

We would like to start off saying it is a pleasure to support Hannah Armstrong's pursuit to transition her passion of art, from a personal hobby to a business opportunity. We are honored to display her art at Riverbank.

But there is no one more proud than the man in this photo.

Here's a little story about this photo!

Eric was driving in the area, knew of our store and what all happens here so he decided to stop in for a little snack and look around. When he was checking out the store, Tanya happened to hear a bit of his conversation and recognized the connection he had to Riverbank. He is Hannah's grandfather. Tanya was delighted to lead him in the direction of our gift shop. When he walked through the doors he immediately saw her work. The look of pride that wash over his face was a treat for Tanya to witness. There may have been a damp eye or two! He had been away and had no idea Hannah had decided to sell her paintings. He spoke about Hannah; her talent and just how much she means to him along with his excitement for her future.
He was asked to pose for a photo which he gladly did.

Witnessing the family of those we support see their loved ones grow, reveal their talents/skills, and be supported to do so in a way that others get the privilege to experience these talents is one of the best parts our work and makes it so meaningful.
