Gothic romance usually tells us that love is a haunting and fleeting. Its something that consumes, destroys, and leaves us wandering the fog filled moors in search of a missing half.
Even Plato himself wrote about this idea in the dialogue, The Symposium. Accordingly, humans were originally created with four arms, four legs, and a head with two faces. Zeus feared their power and split them into two. Hence, they were condemned to spend their lives in search of their other halves.
But the most powerful version of yourself is ignored while waiting for someone else to find you. The Gothic Romance Candle is a fiery reminder that the relationship we have with ourselves is by far the most important.
Open 12 to 5 pm, Wednesday to Saturday.
