Welcome to Middleton & District Arena, a cherished hub for generations of enthusiasts, young and old. Contact us for booking! Then M.R.H.S.

Our versatile facilities cater to various activities, from hockey and figure skating to speed skating and roller skating. The Middleton & District Arena hosted its first official hockey game over 50 years ago on January 20, 1971! The construction of the arena that we know now was truly a community effort. Prior to January 1971, the rink was erected by Nova Scotia Steel at a cost of just over $61,000. At that time the arena was nothing more than an empty steel building. The lighting was completed by Don Neily and his evening students from the Vocational School at a cost of $4,000 (some of which was raised by the Ladies Auxiliary). students Cecil Robicheau, Fred McGill and others raised $1,400 to purchase the necessary lumber to complete the boards. The carpentry class at the Vocational School constructed the boards in 10 foot sections while volunteers worked to install the boards. The community has continued to come together and support the arena through its necessary maintenance and repairs over the past 50 years. The Middleton & District Arena still operates as a vital recreation facility in the Town of Middleton playing host to countless sporting events, exceptional athletes and community gatherings!

The Middleton & District Arena would like to thank RBC for its continued support over the past several years, including the most recent contribution of $10,500 made up of seven separate $1,500 community grants over the last several weeks. In addition to this financial support, RBC has also pitched in to help around the rink, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to our local community. Jeremy Schofield, Jill Schofield, their son Jack and Valerie Payne, RBC Mobile Mortgage Specialist recently joined us during Monday’s shinny program to present the latest funding and help distribute gear and sticks to participants. We are grateful for RBC’s continued investment in our arena and the community it serves!

Learn to Skate with the Greenwood Skating Club at Middleton Arena ⛸️⛸️🥳🥳

Notes:

1. All registrants MUST select the Skate Canada Fee upon registration. Your skater will not be allowed on the ice if it is not paid. Please check your invoice to ensure it is paid. A club mbr and PSP will be verifying. All fees subject to non-psp rates and tax.

2. If you have any issues registering, please call the Greenwood community center for assistance 902-765-1494 ext 568-5341, or visit between 9-4.

3. All precan and can skate programs will take place at the Middleton Arena.

The 14 Wing Greenwood Recreation Hockey Club is hitting the ice at the Middleton District Arena this season, and registrations are officially open to everyone in the community! You do not need to be military or defense staff to join—all families are welcome!
