Prince Rupert Engagement Event – Development of Inherent Jurisdiction Over Child and Family Services

Community members are invited to take part in an important engagement event focused on the future of Child and Family Services and the development of inherent jurisdiction.

Hosted by NIFCS, this event will bring together members of the participating Nations to share their voices, values, traditions and priorities in shaping a child and family system built by our Nations, for our Nations.

We're hiring! The City of Prince Rupert is currently recruiting for a Temporary Full-Time Clerk III position in our Development Services Team.

We are looking for a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our Development Services Team.

This is a long term temporary position, starting in mid to late December. Reporting directly to the Customer Service Manager.
A Development Services Clerk is organized, resourceful, and enjoys working in a busy environment where priorities can change throughout the day. They are comfortable working independently, using good judgment and finding practical solutions when questions or situation aren't straight forward. They care about the community they live and work in and take pride in contributing to the growth and prosperity of Prince Rupert.

📣 Be prepared! Higher-than-normal sea levels are expected along parts of B.C.'s coast later this month due to a Kelvin wave, a large movement of ocean water associated with this year’s El Niño conditions. While significant impacts aren't currently expected, elevated sea levels can increase the effects of high tides, storm surges, and coastal flooding.

If you live, work, or spend time near the coast, now is a good time to review your emergency plan, prepare a grab-and-go bag, and familiarize yourself with local evacuation routes and nearby high ground areas. Stay informed by monitoring local forecasts, tide conditions, and official updates.

We know Metlakatla is a small community and everyone knows everyone! But when it comes to Public Works bus requests, please go directly to Curtis.

🚚 DELIVERIES

Public Works is not covered by WCB to deliver furniture, appliances, or other large items to homes. Residents will need to make their own arrangements to move items from the ferry, up the dock, and to their homes.
