Medicine Hat Musical Theatre

Medicine Hat Musical Theatre - bringing 50+ years of theatre to the 'Hat. Come Play with us!! Medicine Hat Musical Theatre had its beginnings in 1960.

The first President was the late, Henry Allergoth. Under the auspices of a group of interested citizens, the first production was staged in 1961. The show was “Oklahoma!” directed by Richard Mells, and was a rousing success. Since that time, countless local drama enthusiasts have given freely of their time and talents to make musical theatre one of Medicine Hat’s most durable and successful community endeavors.

🎭 What really goes into putting on a theatre production?

In this recording from our local PechaKucha event, Medicine Hat Musical Theatre member Travis Boser takes us behind the curtain and shares the journey of bringing a production to life.

Travis recently directed POTUS, and in his presentation he walks us through the process from the initial idea to auditions, rehearsals, design, and finally opening night. 🎬

It’s a fascinating look at the creativity, collaboration, and countless moving pieces that go into creating the theatre productions our audiences enjoy.

🎄AUDITION NOTICE!
MERRY MAYHEM MASHUP — AUDITIONS ARE COMING! 🎭

Ready for some Christmas chaos? 😂

This season, MHMT is bringing you two hilarious one-act plays in one festive evening, and we're looking for actors to bring all the mayhem to life!

🎄 PART 1 — THE CHRISTMAS TREE

One tree. One man. One woman. Who should get it?

A Christmas Eve tree lot becomes the setting for a hilarious battle as two people share their tales of woe while each tries to prove they're the one who deserves the tree. A story filled with laughs, heart and good old-fashioned Christmas spirit!

😂 PART 2 — A CHRISTMAS CHAOS

What happens when a professional theatre company gets stranded and a rag-tag group of local theatre people has to throw together their own version of A Christmas Carol?

Let's just say... things don't exactly go according to plan! Two actors want Tiny Tim, one crew member thinks she's in the cast, there's plenty of backstage drama, and one actor somehow has to play both Bob AND Mrs. Cratchit!

🎥 WATCH PART 1 & PART 2 to find out more about the two plays from Travis Boser, and get a taste of the fun we're planning!

🚨 IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR OUR COME FROM AWAY AUDIENCE 🚨

We want to make sure our amazing MHMT community doesn't get taken advantage of while trying to find tickets for Come From Away.

Unfortunately, we are aware of individuals claiming to have tickets available for sale when they do not actually have tickets, and we have learned that some people have already been scammed. 💔

PLEASE BE CAREFUL when purchasing tickets from individuals online.

🎟️ Medicine Hat Musical Theatre is NOT selling any additional tickets directly.
🎟️ We cannot verify tickets being offered by individuals through Facebook or other social media platforms.
🎟️ Please do not send money to anyone claiming to have tickets unless you are absolutely certain the tickets are legitimate.
🎟️ If someone is offering tickets, do your research and use caution before sending any payment.

❤️ We know how disappointing it is that Come From Away sold out so quickly, and we understand that people are still hoping to find tickets. Unfortunately, that also creates an opportunity for dishonest people to take advantage of excited theatre-goers.

Please protect yourself, your money, and your fellow theatre lovers.
