ALTERNATIVE WAVES MUSIC FESTIVAL is a 2 day, multi-genre music festival based in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. Beginning with it's inaugural show in 2015 (followed by a 4 year hiatus), through to Alt Waves 2019 and the dark times of the COVID pandemic (2020, 2021) we have always loved to showcase the best up and coming acts, as well as a bunch of familiar favorites. 2024 was our biggest and best

year yet! Festival dates for the upcoming year are June 13th and 14th, 2025. Get ahold of us for more info on how to apply, volunteer or get on a list for other upcoming show bookings!

THE CORPS is a Vancouver based melodic skatepunk band from Vancouver, Canada. Examining personal and societal issues through the lens of the DC comic book universe, the band has seen international success with their unique lyrical content. Told from the perspective of heroes and villains alike, each song contains a fantastical tale that encourages repeat listens and exploration into the featured themes.

The Corps have had the honour of playing alongside many of their biggest influences including Propagandhi, Mad Caddies, Belvedere, Satanic Surfers, D.O.A., Chixdiggit, Gob, and The Dreadnoughts, to name but a few. They have graced many festival stages, such as the Mad Ones Festival in Luxembourg, Pouzza Fest in Montreal, headlined the SoGnar Festival in Calgaryamd crushed alongside Authority Zero at Alt Waves a few years ago.

The Corps deliver a high energy show fueled by precision, passion and a genuine love for punk rock. With every release, they continue to prove that fast music can be both technically impressive and emotionally resonant, carrying the spirit of classic skate punk into a new generation. TOTAL WOLF HAS ENTERED THE ARENA!! Total Wolf is a Medicine Hat hardcore punk band slamming you with fast riffs, infectious hooks and an unapologetic party first attitude. Blending the raw energy of hardcore punk with the speed and precision of thrash, the four-piece has carved out a distinctive sound that's equal parts circle pit, backyard barbecue, and late night chaos.

Known for energetic live performances and a knack for getting the pits going Total Wolf has become a staple of Southern Alberta's punk and hardcore scene. Their music doesn't take itself too seriously, but it's played with spirit built for singalongs, stagedives and anyone who appreciates fast, aggressive music with a sense of humor.

Their mission is simple.... turn the volume up, get the crowd moving and leave every room louder than they found it.
