We’re so grateful for the amazing audiences who have joined us for The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. Seeing children light up as the wardrobe opens and hearing families share the experience together has been pure magic.
Your laughter, your applause, and your excitement remind us why we tell these stories — to bring people together, spark imagination, and share a little wonder during the holiday season. ❤️

The Paperback Stage has returned from a long hiatus, but their rendition of C. S. Lewis’ The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe has been well worth the wait.
With the script adapted from the book itself by the production’s artistic director, Richard Grafton, it is a rare occurrence that a review can comment on the contents of the play itself. In this case, said commentary can be enthusiastic: while easy to understand and follow, the dialogue is deeply evocative of the style of the original text and well suited to the small, eight-person cast.
The decision to pare the cast down to eight people itself makes for a deeply interesting production, watching the actors seamlessly glide in and out of various characters, occasionally even on stage.
To be able to slip from persona to persona betrays a level of skill that is to be admired, especially from the younger half of the cast.
Even when being able to observe an actor put on a mask or attach a beaver tail in full view of the audience, the level of voice and movement work in each character truly let them shine in every moment of dialogue and smooth stage combat.

For a hundred years, Narnia has waited for winter to end.
The creatures of the forest — fauns, centaurs, beavers, and dryads — have lived under the White Witch’s spell, longing for the day when the snow would melt and Aslan would return. Their hope through endless winter feels familiar to us all. We’ve each faced seasons of challenge, waiting for warmth and light to return, trusting that good will overcome in the end. 🌤️
That’s what makes The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe so powerful — it’s more than a story of magic; it’s a reminder that courage, kindness, and faith can break even the coldest spell. 💫

“Once there were four children…”

At the center of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe are four siblings who step through an ordinary wardrobe and into an extraordinary world. Lucy’s wonder, Edmund’s struggle, Susan’s care, and Peter’s growing leadership guide us through Narnia’s winter and toward its hope. Watching these characters grow, change, and find their courage has been one of the great joys of this rehearsal process.
We can’t wait for audiences to meet them and follow their journey on stage.

🎭✨ It’s TECH WEEK in Narnia!
This week, our cast and crew are diving into tech rehearsals — the magical (and sometimes slow!) process where we pull together sound, lighting, costumes, props, and makeup to bring every moment of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe to life. ❄️🦁
We’re going cue to cue, fine-tuning every entrance, snow effect, and spotlight so that the magic shines perfectly for our audiences. It’s careful, detailed work — but it’s where the story truly starts to sparkle! 💫
The excitement is building, and we can’t wait to share the finished show with you soon!
