A “Crumbling Castle” wallet I made recently. Took inspiration from the lyrics in the song and pulled some imagery from the album cover to make this custom two-sided design. 🏰🌊🦠

This is something really different than what I usually make. I made this wallet a long time ago with a leather that is not suitable to be tooled like my other pieces (this is chrome tanned, and usually work with vegetable tanned). It sat blank for many years until I picked it up and free hand doodled all over it with a tool that’s usually for making grooves for stitch lines. A bit of an experiment, technique-wise but made for a unique wallet! It’s available if anyone is interested. ✍🏻🤪🌀

Finally got a chance to make something inspired by this absolute classic album that shares my brand’s namesake. As usual, I tried some new techniques here, including using paint to fill only the cutlines for the lightning and the nonagon on the back. I also used a chemical reaction with Iron Acetate (aka vinegaroon) instead of a regular black dye. This chemical interacts with the leather itself to actually change its colour rather than leaving pigment behind. 🫳🏰🧠
