SET-UP DAY AT SUNRUN FARMS - TODAY!

The festival starts tomorrow, and we could use a few extra hands to get everything ready! The rain put a dent in our set up, so we need a big push today (maybe even tomorrow) to get the site ready.

Today we’ll be:
Painting glow-in the dark rocks
Installing signs
Setting up waste areas
Putting up Christmas lights & solar lights
Dressing the stages
Taking care of all those last-minute odds and ends

Artist Profile: Beached Out
Showtime: Saturday at 5 pm
Peterborough, Ontario rock band Beached Out blends fuzzed-out guitars, surf-tinged melodies, and shared vocals into a sound that pairs '90s indie rock influences with memorable melodies and thoughtful songwriting.
Built around the songwriting partnership of Anne and Jeff Parker, with Megan Kendrick on bass and harmonies, Beached Out explores the beauty and uncertainty of everyday life through songs that move effortlessly between jangling indie-pop and swirling guitars.
On stage, they deliver an energetic mix of hook-filled guitar pop and cathartic indie rock, balancing warmth, noise, and melody.

Artist Profile: History Buffs
Showtime: Saturday at 12:30 pm
The History Buffs show is engaging, full of laughter & hands-on participation. Audiences will sing & clap along with Pam & Ken, who invite folks to try a hand at playing musical spoons & percussion instruments.
The 'Buffs' employ various folk & Celtic instruments to present songs about the woods & waterways of early Canada. They are often accompanied by guitarist/hammer-dulcimer player Michael Ketemer who brings his background in woodsmanship & canoeing, and advanced musical skill.
The History Buffs show gets people asking questions about the songs & instruments, and always wishing for more good times with The History Buffs.

Please, NO DOGS. Although many of us are dog-lovers they can be too disruptive. If you see Stevie and Charlie, they are the SunRun farm dogs. Certified service dogs are welcome.

Still in need of Site Floater volunteers! This is a great job for folks who can't sit still and like to wander around from time to time.

Saturday: 7-10pm.
Sunday: 1-4pm, 4-7pm and 7-10pm

You get: Community cred, free weekend pass, one free meal on the day you work, and 20% off festival tees!

SITE FLOATER DUTIES (approx. every hour do a site tour)
-Check bathrooms and keep an eye on supplies
-Check trash and recycling throughout your shift, change bags out
-Walk the site about once an hour to see if anything needs attention
-Check in with the Front Gate and stage crews to see if they need anything

Artist Profile: Ian Russell
Showtime: Sunday at 2:30 pm
Ian Russell lives with his family in Maynooth. He loves to play guitar. Fingerstyle style. Loves writing music for guitar, when he finds the time. Beautiful stuff. Trust me. I’m me, Ian.
For this years SunRun Revival, I’ll play a bunch of my own music, including Arrow of Time, the long one on side 2 of the tape I put out in 2020, In Light. I’ll do some other old ones and some newer ones. It’s going to be incredible, amazing, mind-blowing. You’ll die and come back to life. Twice. You’ll wish you’d never been born, or you’ll wish you were being born onto the stage at my feet so the first thing you hear with your little out-of-the-womb-now ears is my strings vibrating away into the air. You’ll be transformed into a cloud of dust floating in the wind as well as a thousand other forms all before reforming back into something similar to who you are now. It’ll happen in an instant. You won’t know exactly when it will happen, sometime during my set. You’ll nod your head. Close your eyes. Breathe in and out. You might dance. You’ll wish for it to never end. You’ll wish you were my friend. You can be my friend! Just come to the SunRun Revival 2026 and say, “Hi, I love you. I want to be your friend.” I’ll be touched (don’t touch me) and I’ll say, “Let’s do it. Let’s be friends.” But if you’re not in it to make friends, just come and listen, enjoy the rest of the fest, and move on with your life. Artist Profile: North Renfrew Trio
Showtime: Sunday at 7 pm
North Renfrew is a folk music group from the Ottawa Valley, offering a unique and appealing rootsy folk music sound. The trio version of the group includes guitar, fiddle, melodica and Irish Whistle. North Renfrew largely performs songs written by founder Marc Audet Singer/Songwriter (who specializes in historical songwriting with songs about Canadian history and heritage), but trad folk and east coast songs are included in sets. The music of North Renfrew can be described as Canadiana roots folk, with hints of Celtic, and with cultural content. The mix is a fresh and unique folk music sound.

SunRun Work Weekend -This Saturday, August 29th!

We’re having another work weekend at SunRun Farms this Saturday from 10am – 4pm, and we could use some extra hands!

We’re primarily finishing up the stages and taking care of all those last-minute odds and ends that make the festival come together - picking up borrowed items from friends, putting up signs, and getting all the finishing touches in place.

Free lunch will be served around 1pm!

If you’ve got a few hours to spare, come hang out with us, help out, and be part of getting SunRun ready for a fun weekend! Your extra set of hands really makes a difference!
