fun working days here at TXN! Recently we did a new medium spray painting the mural on the Haida Canoe Totem and Design carving shed doors. Amazing times to learn more about Haida culture, and the process of carving a totem pole.

Gyáa'aang hl K_'áydang. He is carving totem poles. Every cut, every stroke, every lesson shared is part of a larger story.
These works in progress represent more than art being created—they are acts of cultural preservation and resurgence. Through carving, design, language, storytelling, and hands-on learning, we continue to strengthen the connection between our people, our lands, and the knowledge passed down by our ancestors.
Our work is rooted in the responsibility to carry forward Haida teachings while creating opportunities for youth and community members to learn, practice, and contribute. Cultural resurgence is not only about remembering the past; it is about ensuring our culture remains vibrant, visible, and alive for future generations.
As these projects take shape, we are reminded that every step of the process holds value. The teachings shared along the way are just as important as the finished piece.
Haw'aa to all of the knowledge keepers, artists, youth, and community members who continue to invest their time, skills, and hearts into this work.

2026 is here!

We are excited to announce that our 2026 Kaats’ii Hla | Káats’a Hla | This Is Haida Gwaii is published! This new issue features nine stories, stunning photography, and important messaging. It is a must-have for trip planning and travelling to Haida Gwaii.

The name of this publication is followed by the phrase Kaats’ii Hla or Káats’a Hla. This phrase is a response to a knock on the door: “Come in!” It is used to acknowledge a guest’s presence and welcome them into the house. That is what this publication is: to acknowledge and welcome you as a guest to respectfully experience Haida Gwaii’s Air, Ocean, Land and People.
