What would you do to save your town?

The tiny harbour of Foggy Bottom is running out of time. With the fishing industry gone and jobs disappearing, the town has one last chance to survive: a new cannabis production facility that could bring hundreds of jobs back to the community. There’s just one problem… the company won’t build unless the town has a full time doctor.

When a big city surgeons arrives for a short stay, the townspeople hatch a bold plan to make him fall in love with their home. From staged traditions to perfectly timed “coincidences”, the entire community pulls together in a heart warming, laugh out loud scheme that just might work… if the truth doesn’t come out first.

Based on the film “The Grand Seduction”, Seducing the Good Doctor is full of Newfoundland Charm, humour, and heart.

Opening night for this play is on May 11th at St. Gabriel’s Hall! 🎉

Theatre at Da Hall presents; “West Moon” written by Al Pittman, and directed by Cindy Picco.

Set in the cemetery of a fishing outport which is being abandoned in Newfoundland’s 1960s resettlement strategy.... The characters are dead … but once a year, on All Souls’ Night, they have consciousness again; they recall their lives, and yearn to know what is happening in their village and in the lives of their families and friends.

The show is featuring the talents of: Janice Brushett, Kyler Baxter, Daniel Foote, Stephen King, Abby Lawrence, Jeff Pittman, Mary McCarthy, Josh Whittle, Lance Quirke and Moya Taylor⭐️

When: Saturday, November 1st 🗓️

“In all the measure of time’s turning, it may not matter that the dead are dead as long as the living live and remember” - Al Pittman

West Moon, a play by Al Pittman, is set in a graveyard in the small Placentia Bay community of St. Kevin’s. On all souls night, the deceased come to life, reminiscing about their lives and the community and family they left behind. The arrival of two new residents brings the latest news from St. Kevin’s and reveals plans for resettlement of St. Kevin’s, forcing the characters to come to terms with the loss of family and community.

Theatre at Da Hall presents a dramatic reading of West Moon, a play by Al Pittman, on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. Come meet some characters you won’t soon forget.
