TTS offers an all-rounded music training to children: besides vocal training, the young singers will also be trained in intonation, melodious singing, music reading and sense of rhyt

hm. In introducing music to our children at their young age, Miss Pi hopes the gift of music can stay on in their life. Jerusalem | Toronto Treble Singers
Jerusalem
Music: Hubert Parry (1848-1918)
Lyrics: William Blake (1757-1827)

“And did those feet in ancient time” is a poem by William Blake (printed in 1808). This poem is best known today by the name “Jerusalem” when Hubert Parry set the poem to the song “Jerusalem” in 1916.

And did those feet in ancient time
walk upon England's mountains green?
And was the holy Lamb of God
on England's pleasant pastures seen?
And did the countenance divine
shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here
among those dark Satanic Mills?

Bring me my bow of burning gold!
Bring me my arrows of desire!
Bring me my spear! O clouds, unfold!
Bring me my chariot of fire!
I will not cease from mental fight,
nor shall my sword sleep in my hand,
till we have built Jerusalem
In England's green and pleasant Land.

Edelweiss

Edelweiss...
Every morning you greet me

My Favorite Things | Toronto Treble Singers

My Favorite Things

Rain drops on roses and whiskers on kittens,
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens,
Brown paper packages tied up with strings...
These are a few of my favorite things.

Cream-colored ponies and crisp apple strudles,
Door bells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles,
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings...
These are a few of my favorite things.

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes,
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes,
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things.

When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad...
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad

TTS is a group of young singers between age 8 and 14. The Music Director, Rosaline Pi, is a professional classical singer (soprano) who has over thirty years of experiences in public performances.

Besides teaching the singers pieces from the classical vocal repertoire, Ms Pi focuses a lot on (bel canto) vocal training on the singers of all her choirs including the Treble Singers. 30 minutes of the 90 minutes of the rehearsals are used to vocally and musically train the children singers. So Long, Farewell | Toronto Treble Singers

So Long, Farewell

There's a sad sort of clanging from the clock in the hall
And the bells in the steeple too
And up in the nursery an absurd little bird
Is popping out to say "cuckoo"
Regretfully they tell us
But firmly they compel us
To say goodbye to you.

So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, good night
(Marta:) I hate to go and leave this pretty sight
So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, adieu
(Kurt:) Adieu, adieu, to yieu and yieu and yieu
So long, farewell, au revoir, auf Wiedersehen
(Liesl:) I'd like to stay and taste my first champagne
So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye
(Friedrich:) I leave and heave a sigh and say goodbye, goodbye
(Brigitta:) I'm glad to go, I cannot tell a lie
(Louisa: ) I flit, I float, I fleetly flee, I fly
(Gretl:) The sun has gone to bed and so must I
So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye…

The Sound of Music | Toronto Treble Singers

The Sound of Music
My day in the hills has come to an end, I know.
A star has come out to tell me it’s time to go.
But deep in the dark green shadows are voices that urge me to stay,
So I pause and I wait and I listen for one more sound,
For one more lovely thing that the hills might say.

The hills are alive with the sound of music
With songs they have sung for a thousand years
The hills fill my heart with the sound of music
My heart wants to sing every song it hears
My heart wants to beat like the wings of the birds
That rise from the lake to the trees
My heart wants to sigh like a chime that flies
From a church on a breeze
To laugh like a brook when it trips and falls over
Stones on its way
To sing through the night like a lark who is learning to pray
I go to the hills when my heart is lonely
I know I will hear what I've heard before
My heart will be blessed with the sound of music
And I'll sing once more

Where is Love? | Toronto Treble Singers

1. Where is love?
Does it fall from skies above?
Is it underneath the willow tree
That I've been dreaming of?
Where is she
Who I close my eyes to see?
Will I ever know the sweet hello
That's meant for only me?

2. Who can say where she may hide?
Must I travel far and wide?
'Til I am beside the someone who
I can mean something to
Where, where is love?

3. Every night I kneel and pray,
Let tomorrow be the day,
When I see the face of someone
Who I can mean something to?
Where, where is love?
