🌺 A NEW CHAPTER FOR OUR WEST-END ʻOHANA! 🌺

With full hearts and so much gratitude, we’re excited to announce that Hālau Hula ʻO Walea is moving to a new West-End location!

First, we want to extend a heartfelt MAHALO to Nathan Kindred Culture for an incredible two years. Thank you for welcoming our hālau, supporting our haumāna, and providing a space where our ʻohana could continue to grow. We are truly grateful for the memories and the journey we’ve shared with you. And no matter where our hula journey takes us, you will always be a part of our ʻohana. 🤍

As we begin this next chapter, we look forward to continuing to share our love for hula and this beautiful culture with our West-End ʻohana!

🌺✨ HAUʻOLI LĀ HĀNAU E ʻĀPUAKEA! ✨🌺

Today, we celebrate 50 beautiful years of a woman whose love, wisdom, strength, and aloha have touched so many hearts.

Pua, you are such a special part of our Hālau ʻohana. The love you have for your kaikamāhine and everyone around you is truly a gift. You uplift us, inspire us, and remind us of the beauty of leading with love. Our Hālau would not be the same without your light, your grace, and the mana you bring into everything you do.

As you celebrate this incredible milestone, we hope you feel just how deeply loved and appreciated you are. The love you have given to so many has created a beautiful legacy that will continue for generations.

50 years of life, a lifetime of aloha, and a heart that makes our ʻohana so much more beautiful.

We love you endlessly, Pua! May this next chapter be filled with all the happiness, blessings, and love you so deserve.

There are moments in life when words simply don’t feel like enough.

After a full year of rehearsals, sacrifices, early mornings, late nights, countless hours of practice, costume preparations, fundraising, planning, and so much love poured into this journey, All our competitors stood on Kauaʻi and represented Hālau Hula ʻO Walea at the Kauaʻi Mokihana Festival.

What makes this moment even more meaningful is that this year marks 25 years of Hālau Hula ʻO Walea. And this year, that ʻohana travelled across the ocean to share our aloha and our hula on Hawaiian soil.

We could not be more proud to celebrate the accomplishments of our competition teams:

But the awards are only one small part of this story.

What we saw on that stage was dancers who gave their whole hearts. We saw years of learning come to life. We saw sisters supporting sisters, generations dancing together, and an ʻohana that showed what is possible when we come together with one purpose and with aloha.

To our Kumu Joy, Kumu Pueo, musicians, parents, ʻohana, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who helped make this journey possible, mahalo nui loa.

And to our dancers who made the journey from Canada to Kauaʻi, you did it! 🤍

To stand here during our 25th year, on the ʻāina that has welcomed us so beautifully, and to represent Hālau Hula ʻO Walea and Canada is an honour we will never forget. 🇨🇦🌺

This journey was never just about competition.

It was about HULA
It was about ʻOHANA
It was about CULTURE
It was about ALOHA

And it was about carrying forward what began 25 years ago, a love for hula that has grown into a beautiful ʻohana dedicated to the perpetuation of hula, Hawaiʻi, its language, history and culture.

Tonight, our hearts are full.

🌺✨ Happy 50th Birthday to our Ka'onōhiokalā! ✨🌺

Today we celebrate not only 50 incredible years of your life, but the love, kindness, laughter, and aloha you have shared with so many of us along the way.

You are truly one of the biggest supporters of each and every person in our hālau. You show up, you cheer the loudest, you celebrate every accomplishment, and you remind each of us that we are loved and supported. You are the favorite Tito Jon to all of our keiki, the one they look for, the one they light up around, and the one who always seems to bring a little more laughter and joy wherever you go.

You are so much more than a supporter of our hālau, you are a huge part of the heart of our ʻohana. The center that brings people together, the person who makes everyone feel like they belong, and someone we are incredibly blessed to call our own. ❤️

And as you celebrate this very special milestone, we have to tell you…

It feels a little different without you here on Kauaʻi. This past week, we’ve all felt like something has been missing. There’s a little less laughter, a little less craziness, and definitely a lot less CHEEHOOO! 😂

We all can’t wait for you to finally get here and make this ʻohana complete again. We can’t wait to hear your laugh, feel your aloha, and of course, hear that CHEEHOOO! from across the island. 🤙🏽🌺

Ka'onōhiokalā, thank you for being YOU. Thank you for loving our hālau, our keiki, our dancers, and our ʻohana so wholeheartedly. We hope you know just how deeply you are loved and how much you mean to all of us.

Today, we celebrate not only 40 amazing years of you, but also the incredible support, love, and aloha you continue to show our hālau and hula ʻohana. ❤️

You are truly one of our biggest supporters, and we are so grateful for everything you do for our hālau. From cheering us on to always showing up with your support, your presence means more than you know.

Thank you for being such a special part of our ʻohana and for always sharing your aloha with us. We are so blessed to have you by our side!

🌺 OUR ʻO WALEA ʻOHANA IS GROWING ONCE AGAIN!

There is nothing more beautiful than watching our ʻohana grow, and today, we celebrate another precious keiki who has brought even more love and joy into our hula family.

With hearts full of aloha, we welcome Landon Makoa Chee.

Please join us in celebrating Kēhau and Chris as they welcome their beautiful baby boy into the world. May this new chapter be filled with countless precious moments, sweet memories, and an abundance of love and aloha.

And a very special Hoʻomaikaʻi to big brother Lennox Laʻakea! Your family has grown, and you now have a little brother to love, protect, laugh with, and make memories with for years to come. What a beautiful blessing.
