Jay Douglas, one of Canada's most celebrated artist who I've had the pleasure of working with over the past 40 years. He's been a trailblazer and motivator and always encourages and support young musicians who are striving to make an in for themselves. He has worked with me at thunder dome sounds for many years and we've produced many songs and albums together. Celebrating the life of Jay Douglas.
Jay Douglas is an absolute legend of the Canadian music landscape and a true giant of Caribbean-Canadian culture. Performing and producing alongside him for four decades—especially through my studio, Thunder Dome Sounds—puts you at the heart of a vital legacy that helped shape the sound of Toronto's reggae, ska, and R&B history.
From his early days fronting the Cougars in the 1960s on Yonge Street to his decades of mentorship and endless vitality on stage, Jay's contribution extends far beyond his own discography—it lives in every young artist he has encouraged and elevated.
