***IMPORTANT to me***
I was juror for the Juno Awards this year and a good 50% of the artists I voted for received Junos. It was an enlightening experience, but likely not in the way you are thinking. Formulaic music from the labels… yeah, THAT! It made me think long and hard on similarities between the music released by the labels vs AI created music.
If you’ve followed my music for any length of time you will already know that I do not listen to any (other) music while I’m working on my own… so!
2 months ago I changed my display name to “Rebooted” bc I figured I needed to do a rethink of all things musical going forward.
NOW, I hate having my photo taken √, and shoving a camera in my face for videos is even less appealing √, if that’s possible.
BUT, after speaking with a number of Juno winners this past weekend I see the need to not just step out of, but jump out of, my comfort zone. It’ll be fun, they said…
I want to hear from you, my private FB people, (if you can see this post you’re one of the chosen few) what kind of video you’d like to see. I know what I’d like to do, and I will do, but what do you want to hear about?
Each one of you is important to me, that’s why you’re here, and if I can, I will make music and videos for every idea you throw at me. It’s not that I’m lacking ideas-have you seen my desk, my notes!?-it’s that I want to solidify my music community.
I thank you all, in advance, for your contributions.
I look forward to the challenge.

CUE #2: As the peacekeeper, when I was young, I had to shield my siblings from the violence of my mother. Whether she was throwing every dish in the kitchen (usually at my dad), or chasing my father around the well with a knife, or smashing a bottle of whiskey over his head, I learned quickly to remain calm and would send them to bed out of harms way, get another adult, either, and usually, my aunt next door, to calm her down, or anyone who was handy; there wasn't always another adult around.
Later that same role was turned against me as a form of control. Everything became my fault. Father having an affair -my fault. Mother asking if there was “something I knew” - my fault. I’m gay because I "chose to be" -my fault. Fill in any blank you care to right here… -My fault.
