As of today, Redwolf Lutherie is on indefinite hiatus.

It’s difficult for me to have to say this but seeing as how I have been silent on this page for quite some time now it’s something that has had to be addressed.

I respect and am truly thankful for all the support that has been given to my work over the years, and for that you deserve the truth.

To put it simply the fire I had for creating these ancient musical relics simply isn’t burning like it used to. However I am keeping a positive mindset about this, as I am focusing intensely on other enterprises in my life.

The fire very likely will return at some point, or perhaps change shape, metamorphose into something different. As a creator I am never satisfied so I’m interested to see where that drives takes me.

The Etsy will remain live, any remaining instruments will still be available if desired. This page will also stay up.

To conclude, as unfortunate as it is for me to have to make this announcement, this step back is necessary for me as a luthier, artist and individual.

Thank you for your love, support and understanding throughout these years, and I’ll hope to see you all soon.

New instrument completed FOR SALE

My recently completed 6 string Kantele in Maple, Cherry with a figured maple top dyed in forest green.

A unique heartwood to sapwood pattern in the figured maple which I would normally view as a flaw instead inspired me to create a forest vista with a wood burner on the top.

A truly one of a kind piece. Available on my Etsy shop, link in bio as always.

Winter has arrived here in the North, but in The Redwolf Lutherie sphere, there has never been more life.

I Still have a few remaining pieces on Etsy, going fast, as well as several new pieces and an announcement in the coming weeks so stay tuned.

Currently taking final custom commissions for the year via DM. A new website/hub in the works for all things Redwolf Lutherie as well.

NEWLY COMPLETED PIECE
ᛚ ᛚ ᛚ

This 12 String Kantele was a theme piece of sorts. Sorting through my stack of veneers I found two AAA grade pieces of maple with beautiful figuring.

The ripples and weaving brought to mind Laguz, and thus remained the theme of the project.

As I worked at it the inspiration for the Burned inscription followed. Later, when the blue dye was put on it opened itself up further. The figuring itself revealing the image of a serpent, weaving it’s way through rough seas.

It’s tone is as mesmerizing as the waves and ripples which gave it life.

This instrument has a birch frame, HIGHLY figured maple top and bottom, and a Ponsi of Reclaimed elm.

This piece is FOR SALE. Will be posted to my Etsy shop shortly, or I’m open to inquiries via DM as well.
