WHAT IS UP & COMING CULTURE 2019??
It is a Youth Performing Arts & Cultural project of The Chart Society - Culture, Heritage & Art in Maitland, Nova Scotia.
This season, 5 young artists, performers, groups and cultural creators will be able to host, promote and perform their own show or event with the help of our team of volunteer mentors.
WHERE?
At the High Tides Arts & Community Centre located at 11 Church Hill in Maitland, NS. Hit the big stage in our Theatre building or use our beautiful Victorian Hall building.
WHEN?
Times and details for individual shows will be coordinated with selected artists and performers and then announced and promoted in advance of show/ehibit/event.
WHY?
To encourage and highlight Up & Coming young artists and creators by giving them a chance to hit the stage at High Tides Theatre and hone their skills in front of a receptive audience, create and market their own event, work with experienced mentors, mix and mingle at their own after party, and network with Arts & Culture organizations and celebrate Up & Coming Culture!!!
WHO?
The program is hosted by The CHArt Society - Culture, Heritage & Art with the support of Nova Scotia Dept of Communities, Culture & Heritage.
Program coordinators are Scott Fraser & Deneen Newport, with the creative support of Nettah Burry, and the volunteer team from High Tides Arts & Community Centre.
HOW?
In order to make it possible for our performers, expenses and honorariums for performers will be available to our young performers, as well as through the generosity of volunteer mentors and sponsors.
