The South Shore Children’s Choir offers an exciting opportunity for children in Grades 1 through 7 to pursue their shared love of music, singing, learning and fun. A positive music enrichment experience for children through choral music that helps build listening and memory skills, develop basic music reading skills as well as confidence and stage
presence through weekly practice. Invites students
(ages 6-9 and 9-12) to participate in a choral singing project where they will learn vocal skills in a group setting, play music games and make new friends. Patricia Clattenburg Founder and Artistic Director
Patricia is a Nova Scotia native who grew up singing in choirs along the South Shore. She earned her Bachelor of Arts (Music) degree from the University of King’s College. She went on to study
Music Education at Dalhousie University, and then began and completed Level III studies of the Orff- Schulwerk - Music for Children at the University of Alberta. Rebecca Rock Music Accompanist
Rebecca received her Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Education from the University of Western Ontario. She has taught music since 1979 in Halifax and Lunenburg County Counties and currently teaches at Bridgewater Elementary School. John’s and is an accompanist for various choirs in the area. Rebecca is the mother of four adult children: Jonathon, Joshua, Ruth and Rachael. Her favourite pastimes are swimming and playing the piano.
