It's here! we're so excited to launch the Concerts Enchantés 2026-2027 Concert Series. Every one of the musicians on this incredibly well coordinated group shot (getting everybody in the same place for this photo was a scheduling nightmare) will be gracing the Gatineau Hills with their music this season.

This year, our series will be spread evenly between Venturing Hills Farm (Luskville), La Fab sur Mill (Chelsea), and the Centre Wakefield La-Pêche (Wakefield).

Next week, June 8-12, is the very first edition of the Concerts Enchanté Young Artist Program. Six excellent young pianists will come to Wakefield for the week, stay with host families, and work with two professional string collaborators - F***y Bray-Marks (cello) and Yolanda Bruno (violin). They'll be coached by pianists Carson Becke and Suren Barry. In addition to their musical work, they'll have six workshops on a variety of topics - Suren Barry will talk about efficient practicing, Drs. Carol Wiebe and Laura Loewen will talk about music and wellness, Lara Deutsch will talk about the mental side of performance and how to be at your very best, Yolanda Bruno will talk about the world of recording projects, Dr. Michael Bridge will give insights into the life of a freelancer and how to navigate it successfully, and they'll learn all about the mushrooms of the Gatineau Hills with Celine Perrier. The course is really all about the values of Concerts Enchantés: community, collaboration, and communication.

Up next: We are back at La Fab sur Mill in Chelsea for a Sunday morning 11am coffee concert on May 31st. Join us for a cozy morning of music at La Fab sur Mill featuring three of Canada's best baroque instrumentalists: Suren Barry on the harpsichord, Mélisande Corriveau on the viola da gamba, and Noémy Gagnon-Lafrenais on the violin. Coffee will be available on arrival (thanks to our season partner Bean Fair Coffee!), and tickets are flexibly priced (pay-what-you-can, $10 minimum per ticket) so that this concert can be enjoyed by all.

This program features music mostly by Italians, with a few quick trips up to Germany. Italian Baroque composers were masters of reinvention. Although song and dance often took center stage, composers of that era still poured their creative energies into developing a vast repertoire for instruments as well, often using familiar tunes as their inspiration. This program showcases the virtuosic and lyrical allure of these tunes, reigned for instruments in the limelight.

We've had a ton of interest in this Sunday's concert featuring the premiere of Tom Allen's newest chamber musical - an engaging combination of storytelling and music - "Brahms in New York". Tom will be joined on stage by harpist Lori Gemmell, vocalist Patricia O'Callaghan, cellist Julia MacLaine, and pianist Carson Becke. We're back at La Fab sur Mill in Chelsea on April 25th with a very special concert for all ages, but especially the little ones! Chocolate Chip Chamber Music introduces young children to the wonder and beauty of live ensemble music in a playful context that emulates the way preschoolers learn best. In this unique interactive mini-concert (approx. 45 min.), an engaging storyline is brought to life by Baker Bobbie (actress Julie Le Gal), providing a fun and educational framework for the music being performed by Jelly Bean Julia (cellist Julia MacLaine), Mandy Cotton Candy (violinist Emily Kruspe) and Cocoa (pianist Carson Becke). Young audiences will have the opportunity to meet the performers, and have a freshly-baked chocolate chip cookie at the end of the program!
