There’s one lonely moccasin left at the Brass Buffalo.

Handmade. Brain-tanned deer hide. Smoked. Beaded with care and intention by Darrel Dixon of the Stoney Nakoda Nation.

Its pair was taken on Thursday.

These were never just moccasins. They carried the smell of smoke, the touch of the hands that made them, and the stories that live within the work. Pieces like this are alive with meaning — they are held, respected, and shared, not separated.

To the one who took it — I truly hope you understand what you have. I hope you care for it, honour it, and carry its story in a good way.

My heart is heavy…. I really am saddened, it’s going to change my space to reflect my trust in the people who enter my home.

And to those who walk through our doors with respect — thank you.
