To me, this element is especially important because it's all about what is essential for any kind of growth that lasts: a rock solid foundation. Applicable to almost every aspect of life.
If your roots or core foundations are compromised, everything else on top will be as well...

Btw this is my face reveal for those that didn't knew what I looked like.

The image's curves and chromatic tones makes it look great on many colors, but I feel like light grey is the best match.

This particular color is one of my favorite as it contrasts heavily with the artwork without stealing the spotlight 🤌

This little beauty - by Sylvain Sarrailh (concept art director) just came in by the post. 🤩

I immediately fell in love with his work and especially this one because it represents EXACTLY the style I'm trying to bring to my creations and what I'm aiming for! 👇

Vivid composition, beautiful contrast of colors, lots of details in a simple scenery and a mix of realism and fantasy in the textures :)
Instantly eye catching...

Will be using this one as a constant reminder for where I'm going by LEARNING from those that reached the next level already. Super key.

Without any references, you just swim in the dark.

Are you one of the few who saw it before? This piece actually comes from a painting I did in college for an art class and even though IRL painting isn't my favorite thing, I was always proud of the result and kept it as a fun souvenir.
The inspiration came from trying to make the abstract and binary fuse together!

And I knew I wanted to digitize it for my online collection, so here we are! 😎 Used that opportunity to revamp it a little with smoke effects to add more mystery to it.

-The inspiration process behind Shape of Earth-

I knew I wanted to make something related to nature, especially a tree and not just a ball of dirt with rocks.
The main item had to demonstrate a deep sense of strenght/solidity (which is why the roots are oversized) mixed with a serene vibe so it doesn't feel over the top one one side or the other.
The goal was to obtain a good balance in composition and in colors to make the whole look ORGANIC.

The tree might be losing his leaves but it won't change it's core nature. He'll remain the same.
Those flying leaves add a soft and gentle movement that links to the S shapes of the outlines.

I'm glad I finally managed to draw a tree I'm proud of (considering those I used to draw when I was younger) 😂 If you know, you know...
