Big days ahead. I’ve completed my first two firings here at my new home studio. I must say my energy is so much higher now that I’m not travelling to my studio. The first firing was a struggle as I needed to make some small adjustments to the kiln. The second was much more successful. I opted to change up my glazing strategy for the second firing, focusing on celedon glazes and somehow I still managed to get spotting on the pots.

It’s new year and nearly a year is my new home. This means that I’m settling in and comfy. I’ve nearly completed building a new kiln and just need some to go in it. So with Melanya’s unrelenting support we’ve put a greenhouse in our guest room so I can make until the weather is warmer! Basic stuff, a banding wheel, some groggy clay, air filter and a creative push I haven’t felt in a long time!
