Meet award-winning director and dramaturg, Alexandra Rizkallah, who joins the Grand Theatre as Apprentice Artistic Director for the 2026/27 Season. Her name is familiar at the Grand, as Assistant Director on both the cinematic caper HEIST in 2024/25 and the powerful world premiere HOMES: A REFUGEE STORY in 2022/23.

ā“ MOST MEMORABLE GRAND THEATRE PRODUCTION:
It would have to be HOMES: A REFUGEE STORY! It was the first production I worked on here at the Grand and it was such a meaningful experience. It's a beautiful piece that has stayed with me, both because of the story it tells and the incredible people I met while working here.

ā“GRAND PRODUCTION YOU ARE MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS SEASON:
I'm excited for the whole season! There's such a wonderful range of stories and styles, from campy fantasy to eco thrillers to smart escapism and romantic classic, but I'm especially looking forward to SOMEWHERE. I'm always drawn to work that invites us to see the world through perspectives that aren't often centred onstage, and with fantastic dancing, I can't wait to experience it with Grand audiences.
