Meet Matt and Rebecca from Quantum Artistics!! Matt and Rebecca met as a competitive couple competing on a national stage. They are both multi-decorated top teachers with a professional best of Silver at the Canadian National Dancesport Competition. They have retired from the circuit and now teach all styles of American Smooth and American Rhythm(Ballroom and Latin). They are social dance masters and love making hard concepts fun and easy.

Heels Dance Wednesdays @ 7:30 with Hannah
(Starting January 7th)

Hannah Blaauboer is a dedicated performer and educator with over 16 years of dance training, having completed multiple levels with the British Association Teachers of Dance. She has trained extensively in acro, jazz, tap, ballet, and stage, and brings more than 5 years of teaching experience to her students. Hannah is certified with both Acrobatic Arts and Aerial Arts, blending strong technique with a warm, supportive coaching style.

Hannah is a graduate of Fanshawe College with a diploma in Developmental Disabilities. She currently works with adults aged 18+ with developmental disabilities, a role that strengthens her patience, communication skills, and commitment to inclusive learning, qualities she brings directly into her classes.

As a young performer, Hannah was recognized for her natural stage presence, winning Crowd Favourite awards, receiving top adjudication scores, and earning invitations to scholarships and conventions. She also won the Dance Camera Action challenge and was the runner-up in the Western Fair Youth Talent Search. Today, Hannah has stepped back into the professional performance world, where she shines performing solo, duo, and trio circus acts in prestigious shows across Ontario with The Academy and Vertical Air.

Welcome Liena to the Vertical Air team !!

She is a passionate hobby dancer with over 20 years of experience in belly dance, bringing both artistry and expertise to her teaching. With her teaching background, Liena creates a welcoming environment where beginners and seasoned dancers alike can explore the beauty of this ancient art form. In her classes, Liena will teach not only the fundamental techniques, but also complete choreographies designed for performances. Her approach combines technical precision with creativity, empowering dancers to perform confidently and leave a lasting impression wherever they dance.🤍

Belly dance, also known as Raqs Sharqi, originated in the Middle East and North Africa, with roots tracing back thousands of years to ancient fertility rituals and social dances. It evolved as a cultural expression in countries like Egypt, Turkey, and Lebanon, blending traditional movements with influences from folk and classical dance forms. During the 19th and 20th centuries, belly dance gained global popularity through Orientalist fascination and later through cinema and stage performances, transforming into a stylized art form that incorporated modern techniques while preserving its cultural essence.

Today, belly dance is celebrated worldwide not only as a performance art but also as a fitness practice. Its fluid hip movements, isolations, and controlled muscle engagement provide a low-impact workout that improves core strength, flexibility, and posture. Many enthusiasts find it beneficial for enhancing body awareness and confidence, while its rhythmic patterns offer a meditative quality that reduces stress. Fitness studios often incorporate belly dance into aerobic routines, making it an enjoyable way to combine cultural appreciation with physical well-being.

Meet Nadine, a dedicated educator and high school teacher in the Muggle world, bringing well over a decade of experience to Vertical Air’s team.

From childhood, Nadine found joy and expression in the world of dance, with a background in ballet and jazz that paved the way for her unique venture into pole dance in 2015. What started as a personal challenge blossomed into a passion for the physical and artistic aspects of the sport. Over the years, her journey led her to perform and compete on stages across North America, earning her several medals as a testament to her dedication to the craft.

Continuing to train at Vertical Air and learning from professionals worldwide, Nadine treasures the welcoming community that celebrates diversity and encourage each other’s progress. Eager to share her passion, she looks forward to connecting with adults of all ages and backgrounds, accompanying her students on their learning journeys, and witnessing their growth. Nadine’s classes aren’t just about learning; they’re a space where movement, creativity, fun, and personal discovery intersect.
