How many microphones does a drum kit really need?

There’s no single answer. Sometimes a simple setup is all you need. Other times, having more control over individual drums can make a big difference.

So how do you decide what approach makes sense?

We’ll look at microphone selection, placement, and different approaches to miking drums, with live demonstrations along the way.
