Good day to you all. This month our meeting is this Thursday April 9.
This is special time of the year. A time when we get a little rain, a little more and if we don't have enough some more. It's a great time to join in the sharing and comradery at the Guild.
This month as seasons change we have had to make a change of our own. I have brought ahead our June demonstrator to fill in for Fred Rodger who will move to June if all goes well.
Paul Jackson will show us how to make a "square bowl". Paul is a man who loves wood and perfection in his work. His company makes the beautiful wood accents that adorn old (new) homes inside and out. I know Paul will not cut corners in this demo. Join in, at The Guild.
We will be having our Show and Tell, and the Draw Table. The money collected at the table helps run the club, offsetting your dues and a great way to pickup some great finds. Great odds of winning.
In May we are having Jim Williams from Peterborough area showing us how to turn a cowboy hat. This is just another one of the great demos that are offered at the guild. For those who have registered to take in his workshop the following day at Lee Valley please bring in $75, the remaining fee for this coarse.
In June we will be having a yard sale at the club so its a good time dust off the items you no longer use and grow some cash. For the rest of you open your wallets and let the dust out.
The doors open a little before 6:30 pm and you are welcome to help setting up chairs etc. Then socialize after set up, at 7:00 pm we get serious. After the meeting if you can help with the clean up it is most appreciated. Many of the board members put in extra hours before and are there early getting set up.
A forest is not one tree but many.
A guild is not one but many.
Let's grow together!
