Five race categories, lots of laughs, some serious competition... and probably a few spectacular sinkings!

10th Annual Mackerel Tournament hosted by Brooklyn Marina takes place this weekend!!!

Get your rods and reels ready! Join us on Saturday, July 25th for a day of fishing, food, and fun at the Brooklyn Marina.

💰 Cash Prizes for Largest Fish:
1st Place: $300
2nd Place: $200
3rd Place: $100

Prizes will be awarded at 4:00 PM, including awesome adult and youth draw prizes! Come for the fishing, stay for the food and entertainment. 🎉

3rd Annual Cardboard Boat Races at the Brooklyn Marina take place August 22nd this year!

Join the crew at the Brooklyn Marina and launch your creative Cardboard Boat at the 3rd Annual Brooklyn Marina Cardboard Boat Races! The event is on Saturday August 22nd at 2pm
(Rain Date August 29).

Five Race Categories
- 12 & under
- 13 to 18
- Over 18
- Local Businesses
- Community Groups

* Prizes for first 3 categories - 1st $300, 2nd $200, 3rd $100
* Most Creative Design - $100
* “Titanic” prize for most spectacular sinking - $100

Food and Entertainment!

BOAT CONSTRUCTION
The entire boat must be built of cardboard. Cardboard boxes, cardboard block, corrugated cardboard or cardboard carpet tubes can be used. No coated cardboard permitted. Duct tape, glue and liquid nail adhesive can be used and latex paint for water proofing. There shall be NO wood, plastic, sono tubes, styrofoam, spray foam, fiberglass or anything else that’s not cardboard in the construction of your boat. There shall be NO staples, clamps, screws. Just cardboard. 25% limit on duct tape covering.

RULES
- One to four crew members.
- All boat occupants must wear appropriately sized Personal Flotation Devices.
- Boats propelled by paddles.
- No rafts or paddleboard styles.

🏴‍☠️❤️Wow... Just WOW! ❤️🏴‍☠️

A massive, heartfelt THANK YOU to every single person who came out to celebrate Privateer Days with us!

We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. The weather co-operated beautifully, the energy was electric, and the turnout was absolutely historic. To see the park packed to the brim with smiling faces, families, friends, and visitors was truly something special—we haven't seen crowds like that in many, many years!!

The Plank Salmon supper today was absolutely delicious! Thank you to the Royal Canadian Legion #38 Liverpool N.S and the Greenfield and District Volunteer Fire Department for helping us executed it and pull it off with without a hitch!

This festival doesn't happen without a village. A huge shoutout to:

* Our amazing community and visitors for bringing the best energy.
* The incredible entertainers and musicians who kept us rocking all weekend.
* Our tireless volunteers, vendors, and sponsors who worked behind the scenes to make it all seamless.

You all made this a Privateer Days for the history books. We are so proud of our community!

🎭 What a wonderful way to wrap up an incredible Privateer Days! ☠️⚓

If you’re looking for the perfect way to end an amazing weekend of community celebration, head to the Astor Theatre this evening and enjoy The Pirate’s Tempest!

This talented production showcases the incredible creativity of our local youth, featuring live music, outstanding performances, and an amazing set, all created by young people right here in our community.

No tickets required, donations will be gratefully accepted at the door to help support the Astor Theatre’s free youth academy programs throughout the year.

Let’s fill the theatre and celebrate the next generation of performers while supporting the arts in Queens County.
