Update: Well, that didn’t work.
Januarys surgery didn’t go as well as planned. I’m about to get my fourth pillow. Buddette (the pillow with the face, for those of you who have just tuned in to this in going saga) will have a new sibling May 27.
This should complete the set and I’m done with redecorating..😉

One the bright side, I’ve had to go to Halifax so I do have a good supply of my coffee. 😊

I want to thank everyone who has supported me through these by long months. The list is long and I’m hugging every one of you right now. 🫂

I’ve a good team taking care of me and I’m confident this will be the final fix. I do not want nor need any more frickin’ pillows. 😝

Not that I post much recently, but I will be taking a few months off until this health thing is settled.
I will be busy healing and giving names and faces to my 3 pillows.

Hello and how’s the food coma today? 🎅

Haven’t post much lately because I haven’t done much of any art since Junes surgery and I’m having one more in January.

I have a hernia around my surgery sites the Triple bypass Oct 22, 2024 then the Xiphoid extraction June 28,2025.

Jan 7, bloodwork, Jan 9 CT
then we are good to go. 8 weeks of recovery time and my 3rd 🥉 Buddy pillow.
End pillows for the couch and one for the bed. Very fashionable. 😆

I’m getting a guarantee that he will tuck the damn internal stitches in nice and snug. A few of the internals popped out and took 5 and a half months to dissolve. What a pain, so he’s going to tuck real good.

So no new art.

A bit about me.

I do not celebrate anything but Mother Nature and I give my thanks to the universe and the chemistry that created us, on Solstice. Energy.

I believe in what science teaches us.
We should celebrate what science has given us as enthusiastically as religious beliefs.
As they learn new things we all gain.
I believe in learning.
I believe in evolving to the best we can be.

I see religion as a crutch.
Asking gods to do something.
An entity that created us 6 thousand years ago, give or take depend on the religion.

A being that is wrathful.

I see how religion is embedded into society. Our vocabulary uses so many religious words. I’m trying to use seasonal non-religious words that I find I’ve use in the past. But I’m evolving to do better.

Season’s Greetings covers all winter celebrations in my opinion.

I have a cat.
This is Magic.
And she really is.

January 7 is our 3rd year together.
I got her from SHAID and she came with the name Moonlight Magic. she’s 4 1/2

She likes to play hide and seek and sneak attack and run. We had a talk about blood thinners and cat scratches.
She has been very gentle since.

I was starting to get questions about who hit me. Bruises, they cut back the blood thinners but I didn’t tell her that. lol.
She is Magic. 😊

Someone just ask me where I get my motivation.

My inner child.
Things suppressed as I was a curious kid and always wanted to know something about everything. I’m not good at any one thing, how I wish I had a notable specialty. But alas I dabble in anything that fascinates me. If it really peaks my curiosity I’ll stick with it a while.
Martial arts 36 years. Abstract painting 5 years til now. I was a cab driver for 12 years. that’s how I found karate. Computers since Pong. Farming for 8 years. Professional Student at VIU. I have 7 classes left for a degree.
Thinking outside the box, reading books. Love the library. Vancouver Island University has a huge library. It’s a small library where I live now but it’s connected to the whole provincial system, so I can order almost anything.
I love going to libraries when I travel. I do read digital books but real books are better.
Books give me insight and inspiration.
Things have changed for me in the last year and I’ve lost my enthusiasm for doing art. Lost my drive, lost my muse, had a medical scare, so I’m feeling flat.
The Legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild and Tear of the Kingdom, lots of books, and playing with my cat, have been my thing for the last 4 months.
I’m looking for inspiration.
My singing bowl collection.
Trying for all the musical notes, 3 to go.
And my abstract goddess in soapstone.
