IMPORTANT INFO FOR OUR US CUSTOMERS:
Please read to the end.
As you may be aware, the United States has suspended its duty-free "de minimis" threshold of US$800 for all countries, including Canada.
Starting August 29, 2025, all shipments entering the U.S. must have duties prepaid before crossing the border - regardless of value. Goods that are shipped to the United States through the postal network will be subject to duty. This duty will be equal to the effective tariff rate applicable to the product's country of origin. For Canada, the current rate is 35% for most goods.
What this means?
Starting August 29, 2025, every package shipped from Canada to the U.S. must show proof that duties have been prepaid before the shipment can be accepted for delivery.
Because of this, as of August 25th, Etsy will be temporarily suspending shipping to the US until it's able to figure out how to integrate these new changes. On my end, I'll be working to figure out exactly what amount of duties/tariff/tax will need to be charged and how I work these in. Because my items are made in Canada, they may be able to fit within a certain area that falls in the 7% tax bracket, but I need to figure this out still.
Iβm having a SALE this weekend in hopes that those who were planning to purchase soon can go ahead and do so during this sale, and we can get your orders shipped out before this all comes into play.
I will also be closing to US orders temporarily as of Monday morning to give me time to ship everything out before the August 29th changes take effect. I will update once I know more, and once Etsy and our local postal services have things figured out.
Thanks again for all the support.
