It's the second day of the Made in Kawartha Lakes show and sale here at the Lindsay Armoury. More and more people are coming through and marveling at all the beautiful local talent and artwork that our area has to offer.

The show runs til 4 so there's still time to come on down and take in all the wonderful art, talk to the artists, even indulge in some tasty treats. Not much to do outside, so spend your time inside here at MIKL

Our Seniors for Seniors program brings practicing senior artists into long-term care homes to lead hands-on, sensory-based workshops that spark creativity, connection, and joy.

Unlike a typical volunteer-led initiative, this program is powered by a team of compensated artists. We are deeply grateful for their dedication and for the vital support of the City of Kawartha Lakes, which makes this possible.

We are pleased to introduce the talented staff who bring this program to life (pictured from left to right): Muriel Ellis, Elayne Windsor, RoseMarie Condon, Heather Atherton, and Laurie Johnson.

Last Wednesday was the beginning of the new spring Life Drawing course and with it two new faces have joined the group: Brittany and Andrea. We look forward to seeing what they make.

This post comes somewhat reluctantly because Meta keeps flagging us over these life drawings, saying it violates their code of conduct even though all the necessary steps for censorship are taken. It gets rather tedious having to constantly appeal their ruling and hope that a human reviews the content instead of an algorithm. However, everyone does such a good job with their sketches it would be a shame not to share all this good work.

🎨✨ Let your inner child run free!

In the morning, we’ll dive into playful exploration—mixing paints, creating colours, and making beautiful painted papers and prints. 🖌️🌈

In the afternoon, we’ll transform those creations into something uniquely yours—landscapes, geometric abstracts, florals, or whatever your imagination inspires. 🌿🧩🌸

No rules, just creativity, joy, and expression. Come play. 💫
