Tonight marked the end of an era, as we said goodbye to Mark Ward, our beloved LCBS Gold Band Director.

It’s difficult to put into words the impact Mark has had over so many years. Through countless rehearsals, concerts, festivals, and moments both challenging and unforgettable, you have been so much more than a conductor; You have been a mentor, a teacher, a leader, and a source of inspiration for generations of musicians.

You taught us that music is about more than notes on a page. It’s about dedication, teamwork, perseverance, and finding joy in creating something bigger than ourselves. Because of you, we are better musicians, but more importantly, better people.

Thank you for the time, energy, patience, passion, and heart you poured into every rehearsal and every performance.

Congratulations on your retirement. While we’ll miss seeing you on the podium, your legacy will continue to play on for years to come.

With gratitude, admiration, and best wishes for the adventures ahead, thank you for everything…

Today is the Day! 🎶🎤

Join us tonight at 7:00pm at College Drive Community Church for our year end celebration! The 💛Gold💛 and 🩶Silver🩶 Bands are playing some pretty amazing crowd favourites!

More importantly, this will be Mark Ward’s final concert as the LCBS Gold Band conductor 💙 We look forward to celebrating him, in his retirement, tonight as he takes his final bow. Please join us in wishing him all the best; he will be truly missed.

Please join us this Saturday, June 6th @ 7:00pm, at College Drive Community Church, as the LCBS 💛Gold💛 and 🩶Silver🩶 Bands celebrate the retirement of Gold Band Conductor, Mark Ward! 🎶 We've been so lucky to have him on the podium, over the past 9 years. Not only did we get Mark, but we got his beautiful wife, Pat on French Horn and Piano, his son Gavin on Percussion, and his son Colin on Oboe!

It's been a tremendous honour having the Wards be such a huge part of the LCBS family. Mark will be taking his final bow with the LCBS this Saturday and we hope you'll all be there to help us say "thank you" ❤️
