Kristen and I took my parents on a day trip to Annapolis Royal to see the sights. I also took the opportunity to throw my case down and pick a few tunes between swigs of a delicious Munich Dunkel Bavarian Lager. The ImprompTour set list is up to 12 tunes spanning folk, alt-country, blues and rock (mostly originals but Iā€™m covering Steve Earle, Glen Campbell and Ron Hynes so far). The is a healing journey ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹ For the new followers ~ the only place to know where Iā€™m headed next is to tell me when and where the next open mic is at! Thanks to for hosting the best little open mic Iā€™ve ever had the pleasure to attend, and for letting me play on his old Gibson.. I still canā€™t get over all the jaw dropping top tier talent in this province! Every single one of the performers last night brought something truly special for us all to share. My whole life I feel like Iā€™ve been looking for my people but always coming up short, not fitting in etc. So.. Iā€™m just beside myself how all the folks out here open their circle and invite me in, and make a man theyā€™ve never met feel like he truly belongs. Thanks again to everyone last night at The Dahlia in Dartmouth.

(More to come) Side note: all true blooded Canadians needs to come experience Nova Scotia first hand for themselves (at least once! 4 or 5 times is better!) I owe a big thanks to Noah Tye down at the Halifax Folklore Centre for helping me get my sister Janineā€™s guitar all set up for the - His bench was full (they do a lot of work out of the shop here!!) but Noah lent me the tools and space needed to get this Epiphone back into playing shape. Itā€™s not something I would ever ask or expect someone to oblige but Iā€™m playing a couple spots this evening and Noah was a beauty to help me out of a jam as Janineā€™s guitar was unplayable.. Thatā€™s what the ImprompTour is all about! ~ A random tour of Nova Scotia with virtually no pre-planning whatsoever.. just taking opportunities and in this case graciously accepting assistance when and where needed. So, BIG thanks to the Halifax Folklore Centre for basically coming on board as a supporting sponsor of the 2026 Richard Rolland ImprompTour! šŸ™šŸ™Œ
