A sure fire way to spot summer coming to a close...is by watching the barley fields. Golden stalks are ready to harvest before the heavy morning dew comes back. There needs to be a good stretch of hot and dry weather before and after the barley comes down for a successful harvest. Plus, it has to happen when filming isn't! Talk about precision farming!

A couple of weeks ago, on a roasting hot afternoon, Natasha Burnett stopped in to try Locality Brewing 's "Minnie's Jam Orchard" Cider and check out Jamestown from the comfort of a golf cart. After a quick nibble of some blackberries right from the bush, we all quickly headed back to our cars to blast the A/C. Thanks for stopping by, Natasha! Standing invite for you! Did you know that Jamestown is located on a working farm that includes a brewery? Some of you do! Some are surprised when we share brewery posts. What's the connection? We grow and harvest barley, hops, hazelnuts, apples and honey all around the set, that is then used for the beer that is brewed right on the property! As you can imagine, farming and filming at the same time can get a bit complicated!
