It may be time for a refresh… but it also may not be!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A lot of clients assume that once their permanent makeup fades a little, it’s automatically time to book again.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But the truth is?
At the end of the day, it comes down to two things:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨ Personal preference
✨ Pigment percentage still left in the skin
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Some clients actually prefer a softer, lighter healed result over time and feel it blends better with their features, hair colour, makeup style, or overall look.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And then there’s the skin itself.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🖊️Think of it like colouring on a piece of paper with felt. If you keep layering colour over top, everything just gets darker and muddier… and not in the way you intended.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Skin works the same way.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🤔 If there’s still too much pigment left in the skin, adding more on top won’t necessarily give you the fresh, crisp result you’re hoping for.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That’s why I always recommend sending photos/videos or having a consult before booking your refresh appointment.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✅Sometimes your permanent makeup is ready.
❌And sometimes your skin says, “not yet.” 😅
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The goal is always beautiful, healed results… not just adding more pigment for the sake of it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So if you’re unsure whether it’s time for a refresh, please reach out first before booking. I’m always happy to guide you in the right direction.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
