Today is the 6th National Day of Truth and Reconciliation. A time to honour the children who never came home, the Survivors of residential schools, and the families and communities forever impacted. It is a day to remember the truth, reflect on our shared history, and take action toward reconciliation.

The community is invited to gather at Douglas Park Spirit Square (20550 Douglas Crescent, Langley).

The evening's program will feature Red Hawk Drummers, guest speakers, and personal stories. An Educational Story Walk, encouraging participants to deepen their understanding of Truth and Reconciliation, will be available in the park starting at 4 p.m.

As in previous years, the gathering will conclude with a Candlelight Walk, providing a meaningful opportunity to honour Survivors, their families, and Indigenous communities through remembrance, reflection, and solidarity.

Give Strength, Healing and Hope.

Theatre in the Country continues to acknowledge that we gather on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, specifically the qʼʷa:n̓ƛʼən̓ (Kwantlen), q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie), SEMYOME (Semiahmoo), and sc̓əwaθən məsteyəxʷ (Tsawwassen) Nations.
