MFI acts as host organization to numerous groups and service organizations including the Luxton Antique Farm Equipment Club, the Vancouver Island Blacksmiths, Triangle Little League, and South Island Rough Riders Gymkanna Club. We are home to the Luxton Pro Rodeo every Victoria Day long weekend in May, and the Luxton Fall Fair every September. There are a number of facilities on the fairgrounds wh

ich can be rented by the public for a wide range of events. Venues include a riding ring with with re-configurable stock chutes and extensive bleacher seating, Luxton Hall, suitable for dances, lectures and large meetings, a poultry and small animal barn and large open-air areas. Picnic tables, washroom facilities, and garbage collection are also available for a nominal fee. For more information, prices, and availability go to http://luxtonfairgrounds.org/

🛝 PLAYGROUND IMPROVEMENTS UNDERWAY! 🛝

Exciting things are happening at the Luxton Fairgrounds playground!

We’ve started work on installing a brand-new swing set to make the playground even better for local families and children.

⚠️ For everyone’s safety, please stay out of the taped-off construction area while work is underway.

✅ The playground is NOT being removed.
✅ The grounds remain open.
✅ This is an improvement project to add new play equipment.

We appreciate everyone’s patience while volunteers and community partners help make this project happen.

Stay tuned for progress photos as we bring this exciting addition to the playground!

🌱 Vancouver Island gardeners — anyone else noticing how DRY this spring has been already? ☀️💧

After weeks without meaningful rain, many local gardeners are finding soil dry deep into the root zone much earlier than normal.

A few timely reminders for the community this season 👇

✅ Water seedlings more than you normally would in spring
✅ Mulch EARLY this year to help conserve moisture
✅ Heat-sensitive crops may need afternoon shade
✅ If early crops struggled during the May heat wave — don’t panic, there’s still lots of time to re-seed

And believe it or not… we’re already reaching the time of year to start planning some winter vegetables 🌱🥬
