🕯️🕷️ 🕸️ Step Inside the Dark Side of Art

What happens when contemporary artists are handed the keys to a haunted house? Expect the unexpected.

This Halloween season, Lake Country Art Gallery invites you into Dark Arts, an immersive, interactive exhibition where contemporary art meets haunted attraction. Across eight artist-created rooms, encounter devilish bargains, apocalyptic confessions, forbidden spells, underground fungal worlds, and the unsettling mysteries of the self.

Blurring the boundaries between gallery and scare attraction, Dark Arts promises a journey into the strange, the surreal, and the psychologically uncanny. This is no ordinary gallery visit. It’s an experience that invites you to explore, interact, and question what lies beneath the surface.

🕸️ Opening Saturday, October 24, at 2 PM, refreshments provided

Dare to enter? Remember, once you’re inside, the only way out is through.

👭🏼 Ceramic Torsos ”Still Standing” by Heidi Samida Heidi Samida

Today we are featuring Heidi Samida with her two ceramic torsos “Still Standing” made out of ceramic, wood and jute twine.
One carries the phrase ‘Whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’ while the other reads ‘Whatever doesn’t kill you makes you weaker’. Together, they reveal how the same experience can leave different marks on different lives. Fortifying one person while wearing down another.

🔥 THE ART OF SURVIVAL ☀️
Survive is something we all do. Until we don’t.
Across many trials and tribulations, walks of life and leaps of faith, from the macro to micro, the broad strokes and the spaces in between, we all survive something.
Throughout this exhibition, you will find many different explorations of survival, from the abstract to the literal spanning the potentially life-ending to the life-giving.

Rooted in sculpture, but conceptualised as a labyrinth of survival, the members of Kelowna Sculptor’s Network Society envision the exhibition as a gesamtkunstwerk that, while rooted in sculpture, communicates as a whole across multiple mediums.

What does survival mean to you? Tell us in the comments, if you feel like sharing.
